Shift Pedal Question

Hello, For the life of me I cant find out how to remove the actual shift pedal from the shifter arm. I have removed the allen bolt to free it, but it is still attached to the arm. Does anyone know how to remove the pedal from the arm? Its like in a rubber boot.

The ball ends are part of each assembly if I remember correctly, look at this diagram, hope it helps, if not please post back.
