Motorcyclist magazine's 100th Anniversary Celebration

Hey everyone,

Just in case you all missed the album gallery on our Facebook page, here's a link to the gallery. There's tons of images from the party, including pics of our special celebrity guests.

I got the opportunity to meet Kevin Schwantz and Malcolm Smith which was a real treat.

Awesome! I didn't get a chance to read the last issue. Someone stole it out of my truck.

Thanks for posting. I'd be no good at a party with Kevin Schwantz, as I'd get all groupie/stalker on him and ask about racing Mick Doohan, Eddie Lawson, Randy Mamola and get into individual races. He is a god.

I look forward to Motorcyclist every month, but am sad to hear Catterson isn't editor anymore. He's been controversial, especially with Ford firing, but I've really enjoyed the magazine itself under his leadership. Though I won't miss less focus on Ducatis under new leadership.

Hope all remains well and stable with you and your position. I enjoy the fun of your pieces.

I like Brian's style, but also like Marc Cook. Met Marc a few years ago on a "Bandit-fest" that Dale Walker put on, and enjoyed chatting & riding with him and the rest of the group. (Up until a friend of mine catapulted himself at high speed into a cabbage field, but it all turned out for the best).

I would not wish an editor job in a small publication during hard times on my worst enemy. Catterson shepherded Motorcyclist through historically difficult economy, changes in ownership and massive advertiser pressures. Not fun ever I think to be an editor, but over past few years it has to have been worse than any other time. I'm not willing to give him a pass for firing Ford over the Snell article, but under the economic circumstances it at least deserves an asterisk on his resume. I wish him all the best, and hope for Mark Cook's sake that he has an easier go of things in the next few years.

More importantly, happy anniversary to Motorcyclist. May you thrive for the next 100 years!
