Tracked Ninjette in Motor Cyclist Magazine

Randomly noticed this pic of a 250 in an ad for online video features in MCM. Is this a member here? Not a lot of detail unfortunately.

The guy on the right appears to be Ari Henning (a staff member at the magazine in question) on his personal CBR250. So it's probably a CVMA race or a magazine event.

Doesn't quite answer your question, but that might point the right people in the right direction.

Is it a track thing or does those helmets look like Trailerboy531's?

They resemble the Dunlop family's (or Isle of Man TT/roadracing fame) helmet designs. Probably just a popular model?
edit @Trailerboy531 can you offer us a firsthand report maybe?

yo! The guy on the left is Rexbo. He's wearing a Nexx XR1R carbon. The guy on the right is Ari Henning - road test editor at Motorcyclist Magazine and general awesome dude. Both of these guys are fast as hell. This was at an AFM event at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA.

Rexbo and Ari are both Racing KTM RC390s now.

Ari does a lot of DIY Youtube videos ("Motorcyclist Magazine" channel). I like his video. Simple and to the point. Easy to follow.

I have that helmet. I like it. Really lightweight and good visibility. It's not the most protective of helmets out there though: I saw an impact test and it didn't do well at all for side impacts. Front and rear impacts were ok.
