Coolant system work

Hey there.....

I'm in the process of replacing all the O-Rings, and hoses.

I think the hoses ID are 19mm and the reservoir might be 6mm. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My question is that the radiator hoses looked shaped/molded?

I was thinking about going to the auto parts store and getting straight Gates green stripe hose but now I'm not sure.

Also anyone know what the O-Ring on the thermostat is? Kawasaki doesn't sell it separately that I can find and a aftermarket radiator cap that's trustworthy and cheaper than Kawasaki?

Thanks for your help!

I have not. All the hoses on my 2005 are in decent shape. I looked at Partzilla, and I see you can get over $100 added up with three of four hoses, so I can see why you're looking for alternatives.

19mm is 3/4". A Google search for "3/4" molded heater hose" turns up a lot of results. One example is this: https://www.summitracing.com/search/...ion%3A0-750-in

It looks like you could put together what you need from all those available shapes.

Thanks TJ.

I'll take a look and document what I find that works for others.

I used the Dayco catalog to confirm the hose ID.

I ended up getting these two for the elbow molded sections.

Dayco Molded Heater Hoses 70647

Dayco Molded Heater Hoses 88387

And used this for all the straights and the slight bend off the rad to the thermostat.

Gates 28492 Safety Stripe Standard Straight Heater Hose-6' Length, Inner Diameter 3/4", Green

And used this for rad to reservoir.

HPS 1/4" ID Black high temp reinforced silicone heater hose

And got a new rad cap.

Gates 31336 Radiator Cap

If you are going to replace hoses I highly suggest getting pvc pipe cutters. They look like scissors that ratchet. They make perfect straight cuts.
