Current gas prices

How much is gas where you live right now? It's averaging about $1.80 around here, but my lucky ass just got it for barely over $1 a gallon. I filled up my car at that price, not my bike.

DAYUM!

Best I've seen is $1.89 with a discount card. But here in town it's about $2.20-$2.30.

$1.97 here, and I love how now the government wants to add more taxes on it now, you can win, as the saying goes "house always wins, ALWAYS"

I remember back in the early 80s when prices were consistently less than a dollar. The cheap stuff was $0.79.

Lowest I remember was in the 90s back in California. Gas prices were around 1.09, which is what you just posted. Also, nuts.

Here in the UK it has fallen from a peak of just under $9 to $7:34 a gallon
(that's $6:10 a US gallon.)

So I don't want to hear any more whinging from your side of the Atlantic!

GasBuddy is a huge resource for this type of question

http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_retail_price_chart.aspx

Sadly, they weren't around back in the 80's and 90's but at least they have a decades worth of data to mine.

I remember seeing diesel go from uber cheap to surpassing the regular gas price. It was $1.69. Really stood out since that was the first I'd seen that. Unfortunately can't recall the year.

I've seen $1.76 and around me the average is $1.87, $1.09 is insane

I am not looking forward to when this backfires and the saudis bring the price back up after the fracking firms go under due to being unable to sell at profitable prices

Still at about 2.25 a gallon for cheap stuff.... I don't think here in MA we'll see it dip below $2. Because government is being opportunistic and going to jack up taxes on gas.

Still paying for about $3 a gallon for the premium.... damn VVTL-i Engine....

The stranglehold the middle east had on the energy market broke with all of the new pockets of fuel being discovered and tapped into a few years ago. They found themselves needing to drop their prices or get priced right out of the market. Especially when the U.S. greatly upped it's production with discovery of potential oil fields bigger than what the middle east has. Broke the hold they had over us with their tariffs and duties. I also believe that the regime changes and destabilization they've had in that area has forced them to sell at a price to bring funds in quickly.

It's really a combination of many factors that brought the speculated oil price down. Now it'll be interesting to see if the big energy processing companies will turn around later in the year and rail us hard like they are trended to do. The prices always spike in the summers. They drop prices in the winter then bring it back up higher than it was before in the next summer and slowly fuel prices have climbed annually this way. They always claim some form of disaster or loss to justify the price hike yet every year record record setting highs in sales. I remember a couple of times they almost got some negative action by the government.

I'm going to enjoy it for as long as it lasts. I filled up my car for just over $13 the other day.

Prices are around the 1.75 mark lately depending on where your at. Its crazy that withing 10 miles the price here can be 20-25 cents different. I filled up the bike for $8.00 the other day. It was nice.

The craziest diff has been filling up the truck, with like a 28 gallon tank a year ago I would max the $100 pump limit to fill. Now its half that for a full tank.

You're pretty lucky with those prices!

It's $0.97/litre here. Which ~$3.75/Gal

Good ol' Canada!
