Argh! Gas leak from petcock.

I don't have a 2K8, but a 2K7 250.

got done riding it the other day and when I parked it I noticed a slow gas leak out of the bottom of the Petcock. : (

Ideas?

Just throwing these out there:

Have you checked all the connections? There should be 2 hoses securely connected to the petcock.

Is the tank overfilled? With your overflow hose attached to the base of the tank?

can you tell exactly where it is leaking from? The petcock bolts onto the tank. have you tried tightening the bolts up just a tad (not too much) to see if that will help?

how bad is the leak? ...very dangerous situation, in case you haven't figured that out.

do you have a service manual?

I do not, i want one. But, from examining it it seems to be coming from the bottom of the petcock.

Ah, you know what. I looked at it and took the hose off the petcock. That metal ring sucks and it's loose. Put the cable back on and blam, no more leak.

Hooray for crappy metal rings! : p
