Also want to add the Dan-Moto required drilling a bigger hole in the bracket so it would fit the hardware, definitely not something I would want to deal with. I've been searching far and wide for a good sounding, good looking, well made, and inexpensive slip-on and I think this is it.

I am going to purchase some ear-plugs tomorrow to see what all this hype is about If it blocks off any of the sound I need while riding I'll probably stay away from them in general or look for a more forgiving pair.. ear-plugs never sounded like a good idea while riding for me, but it's just something I need to try to answer that.

@Brian you know how you can hear normal conversations with ear plugs, but guns and explosions don't kill your ears? It's the same riding a bike, I feel more focused, can still hear everything I need to, and the things I don't are quieter! No more sore ears, or headache from the wind noise I wouldn't jump off the deep end with much more than foamy earplugs... They are all I use!
As for playing music with ear buds in... You won't be able to hear nothing but music, or maybe I turn mine up to loud

That sounds great, I've never worn actual ear plugs for the sole purpose of noise cancellation, but have tried in-ear headphones and if they're like that than how would I be able to hear a normal convo?

I'm going to pick some up tomorrow if I can find them and take a ride to see what they sound like.

Because regular earplugs don't add extra noise... duh.

yes, conversations are totally possible with ear plugs in. So is hearing everything while riding. Hearing it well I might add.

Yes! Danmoto pipe is loud as hell, but a bit better with the baffle. I have a two brothers on the 300 and wouldn't go back.

I like using earplugs, I think it helps hear the important sounds better. And it made the sound quality from the drop in speaker I had in my old helmet much better.

Basically what everybody else said just putting in my to.

We've had a lot of rain lately. Although I have a decent leather jacket, I have no rain jacket to go over it.

Last night I bought a used textile jacket for $50, a Joe Rocket meteor. It is more of an all-weather riding jacket and looks like it can be very warm, so I plan to use this for my wet weather commutes and winter riding.

So I rode to Home Depot today and looked at what they had for earplugs. I picked up the 7 pair small pack of the ones in the middle. (32db reduction), and let me tell you, I'll be buying a couple of those big bags soon.

I put them on for my ride home and woah. I can actually hear myself think. It's actually a calm feeling, and I expected it to be A LOT different and more distracting but it actually helps you focus more and I'm happy to know it's helping prevent my ears from getting damaged. I can still hear my loud exhaust and everything else.

Hmm. That's cool, an all weather jacket. I'd be more of the guy just to throw a rain coat over my motorcycle jacket.

Does it have all necessary armor and how would it be for hot weather?

Yes, all the armor included. I tried riding it to work today, with temperatures of around 10c (low 50s). It is definitely warmer than my leather Teknic jacket, but I'm sure the Teknic jacket would protect better in a high speed spill. It has a lot of venting, but I already have a Dainese mesh jacket for hot weather, so I'll stick with using that.

Just picked up the Macna Cooling Vest! It is 2 weeks on backorder, but I can't wait to try this thing out. Love the technology of it, compared to other vests.

Picked up @Brian gloves in original post, plus one of his A* jackets. I bought my girlfriend an A* Stella jacket with bio armor back protector, bilt riding jeans with Arma CE padded shorts w/ hip and lower back protector, and A* SMX 5 boots. She is now ATGATT!

Went to my local cycle gear to see if they had any leather jackets of my interest. This Sedici caught my eye and they only had 1 size left in the back. Fits great and got it for an unbelievable price.

Have you tested it yet? Is it bulky when filled? Why did you choose it over chemical vests?

I want to pick up some kind of cooling vest this summer. Was thinking of trying the hyperkewl one.

I have not received it yet (should get it around June 20th), but I'll let you know when I do!

I chose this one because all the other vests (like the Hyperkewl) are vests you wet, while getting yourself wet in the process and only lasting a couple to a few hours. I wanted something that didn't make me wet/soggy and lasted longer. This vest contains properties that keeps you cool for a longer period and all you need is the amount of what a water bottle carries to fill it.

I tried using my sleeves the other day and found that the angle of my wrists and arms seals up the cuff opening and no air flows up my jacket sleeve. I tried opening the vents on my biceps to see if that would create enough air flow.

How did yours work? What type of jacket do you wear and was air able to flow up the sleeve?

I know the correct posture is to have your arms from the wrist to elbow parallel to the ground, but heck i've not been able to tuck down that far.

Only new gear is the LD comfort sleeves mentioned earlier, so posting up another neat gizmo.

Issue: finding myself having to overnight unexpectedly and the motel lacks enough plugs to charge my stuff.

Idea: Find small electronic surge protector type thing to plug everything in with minimal space lost in my tail bag.

Solution: Philips Ultra Slim USB charger. This thing is so small it fits in my little toiletry bag!



It managed to charge my camera, headset, phone, and tablet. Win!

I have the Rev'it Ignition 2 jacket, so there are sleeve vents, I just open those up and it hits the LDComfort cool sleeves directly. Untortunately, this jacket isn't too great to ride in the summer, so I will be getting a summer jacket at some point and will be looking for similar venting, so I can utilize my sleeves.

I had ordered the tech but it was not a "low" seat. Think the company I ordered it from is a bit shady though. Had to put in a PayPal clam for that one.

Hope the rain stays away so I can get a good ride in with the new seat. I will definitely let you know how it is.

Insurance bike for while my 650 is not safe to ride. Again I had a lady knock it over while parked.

I take it back today but today is also the day I find out what happens next. Maybe an extension? Maybe I get the 800GS next. Or not lol.

Whoa that's cool I have the same problem when I travel for work, usually keep a power stick in my computer bag... Will be dropping hints at my wife since fathers day is coming

AFAIK its not a surge protector, just a plug. But tested it at the house and it leaves enough room the lower plug can be used when this is plugged into the top socket.

I found it at Wal-Mart near the iThingy plugs and adaptors. It only has 1A USB ports so those won't charge things like the iPad but I picked up a spare wall plug with 2.1A USB to use.

Having this in my tail bag is going to make overnighting somewhere so much nicer!

The seat came in! The back seat cover needs some work. My have to staple it down tight.

Overall i love it, it is a bit lower then stock and much more comfortable. Just need some dropped pegs or rear sets now...

I tend to ride whether its rain or shine, so when I got my first set of boots, I went with the Joe Rocket Sonic R boots. After sweating buckets in them for a year, my right boot had:
-A loose toe slider
-The inner liner ripped on the heel
-The Inner liner had ripped free from the leather
-The stitch between the upper and the sole developed a crack, letting water right in.

my left boot however, is fine.

The last straw was when the right boot zipper broke with my foot inside. After a grueling fight that ended just short of cutting the things off with a pair of shears, I decided that I would go ahead and shell out the money for top shelf boots, so I'd never have to buy another pair again. I settled on the Sidi Vortice.

Just before buying however, I saw the Mag 1's at motorcycle-superstore... And after 2 months of waiting for them to come in stock, I finally have them.

Best. Boots. Ever.
