Evil kawasaki tech.... (tight sprocket nut)

Id love to get my hands on the ham-fisted gorilla that put my front sprocket nut on at the factory. Sheesh.

Its soaking in break-free overnight...hoping it will come off in the morning.

Im here to tell you...that video looks all great, but that nut was clearly not put on by the same little thai girl that did mine.

Ive tried everything, including the method described in the video. Foot on rear brake, 2x4 through rear wheel, a 2ft breaker bar, break-free, peened the washer as flat as I could get it....even tried a little heat on the nut with a micro torch to get it to expand. It aint coming off by any manual means.

Oh, and for those that want to know....its a 27mm nut.

The only way mine is coming off is with a impact gun...hopefully. I know how to get a sprocket off. Im not a newb to this type of thing.

Im telling you, mine is like it was welded to the shaft. Its on there good.

Well, I finally got it off.
That thing was enough to make a nun cuss like a sailor. WOW it was on there tight.

I guess the break-free finally kicked in or something. Bent over the seat, and gave it all I had, and POP....it finally came loose. I feel sorry for the small guys or girls trying to do this. Its gonna be rough. Im 6'3" and 185lbs, and it took everything I had to get it off.

On a side note. Im planning on doing a tech shop video series with this and other bikes. Video coming soon.

is that 185 lbs of mostly muscle?

the guy in the vid seemed like he had muscle on him so i would think it would'nt be as easy as his

im 160 lbs of couch potatoe and i would have to go for the 2x4 and as long a breaker bar i can find and put my entire weight on it

its too late for me to say this but for future reference, you DONT need to be on the brakes if you have a 2x4 in the wheel

Ducky said he was 250 lbs a while before that vid was made but he's lost weight.
