BT-003 Tire Upgrade

With only 2500 miles on the wife's bike, I decided it was time to trash the IRC's.. Went with the recommended stock size up front, and a 140/70-17 in the rear.

Thanks. Looking at some of the clearances involved (like chain guard, or the swingarm itself) I'm kind of wondering how guys get 150's to fit.

Just buzzing around the neighborhood, the tires feel pretty solid. My wife said it rode much smoother, coming home. We'll see how well they last, but I'm figuring they'll go at least a couple years, as much as she rides.

Guess if she never rides it.. 003's are nice tires, RS's will last a tad longer than the types(2,3 &4).

Good choice

I bought the bike for her, last Thanksgiving... And it has 2,800 miles on it now. So yes.. they should last a couple of years.

Got 'em. Stick like glue. Better than the MT75s. I'm at 1k miles so far, no problem with the 5-compound tire. Says not to ride in wet weather but I did anyway with no problems (though not aggressively). I've just used all the tire (no chicken strips) as of last week.

A guy local here wants to sell me a set of 003rs take offs for $150, he says the only have one light weekend of use on them. I've got 8k miles on the stock IRC rear, and it needs replacing, the front is hardly showing any signs of wear. Is that normal? And how many miles do you think I could get out.of the 003's?

I have the 003's on my track bike... they are great tires with lots of grip once heated up.
