windscreen and rear seat cowl from Aliexpress, for less than 35 USD
I bought a rear seat cowl for less than 35 USD, from aliexpress.com, including delivery. The price for the windshield was about 14 USD. (Unfortunately I have no link to a picture, but I can send it if anyone request it.)
The price was less than 10 % of what I found for similar parts at www.kawasaki.no, with no delivery included. Last futzed with by Norway; May 23rd, 2017 at 01:12 PM. |

Have you received them?
How's the quality? Color match? Fit? I'm very skeptical of Chinese aftermarket stuff.

Mind if we get some pics?
Been thinking about a Double Bubble for the ol' 250, and a rear seat cowl for giggles. Looking forward to seeing if I should get them! Are these the same ones you purchased? Rear Seat Cowl Double Bubble Windscreen (smoke) |

https://www.mcsiden.no/viewtopic.php...321039#p321039 The seat cowl was from the same shop, I believe. The price was lower at the time. The windshield might also have been from the same place, but I don't remember exactly. Might have been from here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-...6-93924849b82f Both parts were definately bought at aliexpress.com, though. |

Thanks for the feedback, just put in my order today. 5/29.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/HotS...308.0.0.B8BU7h Seller: AlexanderMoto $17.50 incl ship. I'll put a mini review once I get it. I'm skeptical about Chinese stuff too. Decided whether my skepticism is worth anything, and there's one way to find out! |

On the norwegian Kawasaki pages, a lime green seat cowl costs 2064 NOK. 2064 NOK equals about 2064 / 8.433 USD = 245 USD. So, from the norwegian Kawasaki dealership such a part costs about 245 / 17.5 => 14 times as much. That made the choice easy for me, and I can live with the lower quality. To make a comprison: Such a seat cowl costs about the same as the cheapest plane roundtrips between Oslo and New York (2198 NOK) ( as can be seen here, today: http://www.flybilligst.com/index.php (upper right corner)). I'll rather buy the cheap chinese part, and take a trip to New York for the "rest" of the money, for example. |

Windscreen received yesterday. 6/14. From Guangdong. I think that's near Hong Kong.
Anyway I won't be posting pics just yet, my bike is getting serviced once I get it back I'll take some pics with the shield off the bike, on the bike, see if I can weigh it and compare it to the old screen. It looks fine really. Pretty lightweight, a light smoke color to it. See one extra plastic tabs sticking out from manufacturing, but it's really OK considering the price. I can get a nail file and scrub it off no problem. Will see how install goes and if the holes line up once my bike comes back. |

I would be interested in a side by side picture as well to see how much extra "bubble" is in the new screen.

Rode with the new windscreen for 200 miles. I'll keep it short.
Measurements: OEM - 3 5/16 " New - 4 " Didn't weigh it, if somebody wants that info I can do it. They're both light pieces of plastic. Has a good fit. Had to reuse the rubber mount pegs from the old windshield. Comparing the highway rides, noticeable change in the wind deflection. The wind hits about 2-3 inches higher on my helmet (5'8"). This can be a pro / con. Pro, less wind. Con, hotter helmet. Previous windscreen hit right under the helmet. New one hits somewhere on my visor. This is going 80+ mph. Air flow is smooth. It's a noticeable change. For the money, I think it's a fun thing to experiment with. The construction is solid; I wouldn't worry about it breaking. The bubble doesn't seem very large, but there is an effect. Maybe a Double Bubble has a bigger bubble, and that may be what you're looking for. For me, for the cost, the value proposition is there. And it looks cool! Last futzed with by Tastytoast; July 10th, 2017 at 08:53 PM. Reason: Measurements |
