Bike wouldn't turn over. Waited a while then it started.

Is that normal or is there something I need to look into? I tried to start it (choke was applied) this morning after it sat all night and it refused to turn over. You could hear the bike trying to turn over but it wouldn't. I was thinking what could be the problem. The gas was good and I'm not sure about the oil. Though my first thought was the carbs. I shook the bike a little and just went back to do whatever and about 10 minutes later I tried again (choke also applied). It started on the first try though it wasn't an instant fire-up.

After it got hot while running for a while. When I would turn it off and start again. It had no issues and got going a lot quicker than this morning. Any ideas?

Had this exact issue last night.

came back from about 45 min ride. Went to go grab some stuff, bike wouldnt start. It was pointed down hill. Turned the bike horizontal, shook it. and left it for a bit. Started up again, no issues.
