Best place for keeping registration papers?

Trying to think of a place on the bike that's both protected and accessible...any ideas?

I fold mine up and keep them in my wallet with my insurance card along with my driver's licence. The thinking is, I'll never ride w/o my licence and so I'll always have my bike paperwork with me.

I put it under the seat, underneath the tool kit so that it stays there. If you ever need it, just pop the seat off.

I've found that area to not be weatherproof and the paperwork always seems to get soaked from washing and/or riding.

I keep all my papers in a plastic / waterproof bag under the rear seat. It seems like the most practical thing to do imo.

I put it in the trunk with a heavy duty plastic zip bag with my owners manual to circumvent the issue of the papers getting soaked with water.

Edit: Cody beat me to it

okay, do what you want. post back when you find your paperwork soggy from a leak in the plastic. been there, done that... now keep stuff in my wallet. If your wallet gets soaked, you really have bigger problems to contend with.

in the manual wrapped in the bag under the tool kit under the seat. seemed like the safest place in terms of bending/water, getting lost, etc.

and I'm saying, even when I kept the papers in a plastic bag, I had problems.... and this is over many, many years of finding out the hard way. Like I said, do what you want... I answered the OPs question from my perspective.

Laminate, plastic bag, bigger plastic bag, 3rd and largest of the plastic bags, then a waterproof scubadiving bag and top off the protection with a magnum condom...is that enough protection for you? By the time u pull out the papers the cop will be off shift / dead and therefore it saves u from a dreaded ticket. The mass of all of this couldn't possibly fit through the crevice leading to the air intake, especially after It's bungee'd down.

Roll it up and stick it in one of those M&M containers, then run a strip of electrical tape around the edge of the cap. Electrical tape is a good thing to carry with you anyway so when you have to take it out, just run another strip of tape around the cap.

Another advantage of keeping them in the wallet is that if the bike is stolen and the thief gets pulled over riding it, no papers = investigation for ticket = probable arrest. At least, that's the theory. I'm all for making it a little harder for a thief to get away with what they're doing.

It's much easier to steal a wallet than a bike.

Just make sure you don't get a lubricated condom, then it might slip through the crack

+1. freezer lock bag all the way. I use to put it in a plain sandwich bag. Vibrations while riding will eventually wear a hole in it if something is on top of it. The thick freezer bags prevent this pretty well.

kept mine in my jacket pocket a while ago. Thought it was safe cause the jackets waterproof and all. Found out the hard way the zippers will leak if in a down pour. Ruined my phone and soaked my wallet.

Okay, How about keep(a photo copy of it) in a zip lock plastic bag, then inside your jacket that you're wearing for that day.

Before someone says it...I know, the jacket can be stolen if you take it off..

And keep a picture copy of it in your camera phone!!

My wallet already has too much crap in it. I keep it in a ziploc bag under the seat. Has stayed dry post rain/wash for 2 months now.

Wallet for me. I would never keep it on the bike. If the bike gets stolen, do you really want to give them all that too?
