CCS Ultralight Thunderbike....Anyone??

Anyone racing in ULTB at Summit memorial weekend? A few of us have been trying to get this grid going, and Ive even bought an extra pregen to serve as a loaner bike to help get another rider out there. My 1st choice bike wont be ready in time this round,so I will be using the pregen myself, but after that I have 2 people ready to try it in June, once my "A" bike will be ready. I know alot of you guys prefer track days, but our little crew is trying to come up with ways to help the race class out, such as a cash prize collectively from each entry(this is not fully established yet),as well as having loaner 250's as stated earlier.Any additional "positive" thoughts or ideas are always appreciated from you guys/gals.All we can do is try.......

A lot of us race in TPMs Ninja 300 series and Ultra Light series as well. Not sure how the turn out is for CCS but we usually get a good amount of folks at TPM except for Monday at NJMP where we only had like 5

1-3 seems the average......really a shame, hence the few of the guys that sold the big bikes to come out and help build up the class of 250/300's.Its too hard to get racers to do just trackdays, and alot of racers seem to budget in for racing only,so the TPM is a hard sell to them.It sounds cool all the same though.

I race CCS Ultralight Thunderbike in FL but the schedules the past 2 years have been hard to accommodate. Down here we average 10 riders on the grid and once I saw 25 (combined region race at Jennings- South East and FL Regions)

The grid size has gone down as there is now a competing race org that is creating a broken family feel with people not knowing which to run with.

Towards your initial thought though:

If you are looking to increase attendance in the class try getting the kids involved, try getting a dealer group to sponsor the series with some perks for 250/300s.

I'd utilize the heck out of a place that would test and tune 250s

I'm running a 300 in ultralight thunderbike, gt ultralight and maybe 500ss

TPM's series has far more turnout though. The least I've ever seen with TPM is 4-5 while the most I've seen at CCS is 4-5 in the ultralight class. Gotta go south to get the grids on these things with ccs/wera

That said I highly suggest signing up with TPM for the two gp moto series available if you want to race the little bikes. We have plenty of races at summit and njmp for you to sign up for

Team Pro-Motion It's a local track day organization that does races every once in a while in the mid-atlantic area (none of the races conflict with ccs)

The 250 thing is only a side project. My FZR(400 or 600) is my main bike. What track do you guys use at Summit? The main track or kart track?

Shenny is my favorite track

even with the many broken bones and injuries I've suffered there, some of which I still feel today months-years later
