My new LED turn signals

Whatup peeps!

Check out my newly installed LED back signals. And if I may (of course i can) say so, they are something gooooooooorgeous. Very nice complement to the already installed LED tail signals.

I wanted to avoid all trouble with the poh-pohs since the integrated taillight by itself may not have respected the turn signal rule. So, I went and got myself some pre-wired yellow 5mm LEDs off ebay for 6 bucks

Actually, i had originally ordered amber LED and installed all to realize that they weren't the same color as the taillight...

Anyways, i took a few pics, so enjoy and feel free to comment! Oh, i also got my back protector for my dainese jacket, sooo fresh!

(God its a friggin long winter)

Lookin' good.
How's lateral visibility and brightness? One of the reasons I haven't switched over to LED rears is I haven't found a set that seems sufficiently bright in daylight. Considering some 1W LEDs if I can find a tight enough cluster

Very clean instalation. Is the license plate going to be mounted at the tail or underneath the wheel well?

I haven't tested them out in daylight yet, but i'm convinced they'll be quite noticeable. The LED taillight is blinding and my garage is neon lit, so i think that's perfect.

The little LED signals are not as bright since their angle points lower. But i just wanted them there as complement. I'm sure their visible during the day, prolly more than enough for anyone behind to see where i'm intending to turn. However, in the dark they are very much visible, and that was the major benefit i was looking for: increased night visibility.

As for lateral visibility, i wouldn't say it's amazing but then again, lateral visibility on the ol lobster eye signals wasn't fantastic either. You do see them from the side while flashing. I may even venture to say that the direct yellow on black contrast make the LED more noticeable from whichever POV. (picture from the left kinda illustrates what i mean)

I'll be installing the plate at the tail, not underneath the wheel well (somehow, i don't think the cops would approve of that where i live, lol)

Thanks for the feedback!

whats up? what part of montreal are you from?

i gotta say that's an amazing setup you got, very clean.

i ordered my taillight with integrated signals this week, $88.60 shipped to montreal, bikemonkey wanted 140+ shipping, i'm also considering getting a targa fender eliminator. it's the cleanest i've seen so far, what kit are you using?

Thank you for the usefull link ! Unfortunately my French language is kind of poor. Since you are Canadian, I assume you know the language, could you tell me please whether this will fit on the 2008 model?

It will Bogdan. The 2008, 2009 and 2010 models are essentially the same.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I was just wondering how this integrated tail light compares to the bike monkey one? I can't read the website but it doesn't look like it's available anymore?

Thanks

Suhweet, thanks! If I choose to, I don't have to use the tailight as turn signals, I can keep the stock ones hooked up?

I was wondering this as well. I would plan on buying these tail-lights as soon as they're in stock, if that ever happens.

It's identical.

remember, bikemonkey was probably the first to sell to the american market, but this taillight was out there prior to bikemonkeys release.

If you wan't, I have one for sale. Never used, leftover from the group buy...

Wow chokne, that looks wicked!

Are they just spliced into the turn signal wires? Could you maybe, please ever be so kind as to put the wiring diagram of those on line, with some naked pictures(the bike)! Rear end to be exact.....

I would love to reproduce that, uhm copy that. (best form of flattery)

Where did you get the LED's?? Was thinking of doing a 2 part for my tail. A strip or 2 in red for brake on the inside and then on the outside of the scoop doing a couple strips of amber for the turn signal

Cab:
I just wired them in parallel. Since i have the integrated LED taillight, i had to get a new relay for LED lights already. So, i just used the feed for the old rear turn signals and wired them into the LEDs. I should've taken pictures but i was just so excited of putting everything together that i forgot!

Rob:
I got the LEDs on ebay. Just search for pre wired 5mm LEDs, they come in a big variety of colors.
