breather?
First off, great forum. I have turned a simple project on my 07 250 into a large one. My issue is with my airbox removal. I'm sure it has already been discussed, and I tried to find it so please bear with me. My concern is with the crankcase breather tube that originally ran to the bottom of the airbox, in the past after long rides I have noticed small amounts of oil in the box from this tube. What is the proper way to allow this tube to vent while keeping oil from " leaking " or ending up on the motor. Thanks.

put a cute little breather filter on the end of it...looks like a mini k and n filter. I have actually wondered if I could route it to my chain and have a low tech auto oiler???

Some people attach a small K&N filter to the crankcase breather outlet.
I prefer the racer method of attaching a small bottle to the frame and running a tube from the crankcase into it. My racing organization (AFM) requires a minimum 6 ounce clear bottle. Most racers use either a baby bottle or a bear shaped honey bottle with a Zip-Tie around its neck. Since you have removed the airbox their is plenty of space to find room for a small bottle.

I was thinking that a small model airplane fuel tank would do the job nicely. They come in all shapes and sizes. They are "fuel safe" if you make sure you buy one meant for gasoline type fuels (as opposed to methanol or oil/nitro mixture). Most of them are set up with two tubes so you could use one as the crankcase breather tube and the other could be the vent tube. You could hang it downward with the other vent tubes the EX-250 already has. |

It does not need a return. I've ridden for years with only a tiny amount of oil accumulating in the catch. Yes, it does need to be vented.

Use filters like these
The first one is what I am using and it works great. Most auto parts stores will have at least one or the other on hand.
