Some more mods

After @micoulisninja feels so happy with his slipper clutch now and I long ago had the idea that this would be good for me, since I'm an aggressive downshifter I'd order a slipper clutch for my bike http://www.slipperclutchs.com/kawasa...a-250-detail74
Also since my left hand broke with the last accident in december and it doesn't feel so good by now, I'd order the quick shifter from HealTech http://www.healtech-electronics.com/products/qse/
Last but not least and for diagnose of my bike I'd also order the OBD Tool from Healtech http://www.healtech-electronics.com/products/obd/

All of them arrived today

Still waiting for the radial master 13 mm to come...

And to complete my bike it's getting tapered roller bearings for the steering and also a lightweight lithium battery, which all I already have here at home.

After all those mods the weight will be down by 8 kg with the front and the rear at the same weight (163 kg wet with 81.5 kg for f+r).

At least 619 USD plus shipping, since I'd buy in Germany I'd pay in Euro.

Hi Roland ! nice to see you get your bike upgraded and hope your hand heals up and gets back fully functional really soon ! Nice goodies you have there !
I am wondering though... the cost for the whole 300 engine along with the clutch was sth like 950€ with shipping to Greece from Germany...
wouldn't it be more cost worthy to get a whole engine instead of just the slipper for 600+ ??

Anyway, I believe you will really enjoy its virtues and can't wait to give us your impressions...
I used to have a hand built shifter connected to the PC V but now I am going to be using my dynojet one from my ZX-12R, still I like all Healtech stuff just fine !
My radial front brake master cylinder is from a '09 R1 which works great (along with a sumitomo stock '04 R1 4-pot brake caliper) even if kinda too big and I use a ballistic lithium battery like Pratik's but with 8 cells which can fire up even a V-2...
difference in weight is not much (about 2,5-3kg)in my case however the whole weight balancing of the bike changes dramatically to the better and makes it feel more flickable yet more controllable at the same time...this small change of weight distribution brings center of gravity to a better point and is excellent upgrade for anyone visiting the track more often... makes some room under the seat too for a compact raincover, a lock or some tools...

Thx, I think it takes some time but also I guess my left hand could be to slow for quick shifting in future - the age isn't good for anything...

Thx Nick, about the clutch instead of the engine - you should know that I look at engines from the technical point and from there the 250 is the better choice instead of the 300.
Also I just bought 15+42 sprockets and a second hand tb from the 300, what then brings me anywhere on the level of the R25 Yami with maybe 2 hp more what with all my other mods would mean app. 40 hp at the crank and that at least is more than I need.

Quick shifting is an absolute great thing and downshifts with a slipper clutch are just the same

And allow me one word about Healtech Electronics, not only their products are from great quality - no, their service is just the very best I ever had. Thank you Healtech

That is SERIOUS.

I have something like that, but I think you have more toys on your bike.

When you installed the swing arm, did it increase or decrease your wheelbase?

Jake, the measurements from the aluminum swing arm are the same like stock, so it didn't change anything in this case.
But the aluminum swing arm is much more stable than the stock, so the handling of the bike is much better with it.

Happy...

After the last day rides I must say that I'm really happy with the setup of my suspension like it is now.
My Ninja never felt so good before, especially the front.
With the stock suspension, especially the front, I didn't feel very secure and well.
After I'd install the FEGV from Racetech, used 15W fork-oil it was better but still not what I'd want like it should be.
Now after a real professional (Kawasaki Race-Mech with 20 years experience in suspension-tuning) did the setup, I'm very happy with what I got.
Even when his experience is based on USD-forks and he'd never before had anything to do with FEGV's (here I could assist) its great how it is now.
Interesting is, that he admitted to use 10W fork-oil and with this it even feels better than before, with 15W the rebound was slower.
And also interesting is, that my fork when the bike is parked and with the brake grabbed just feels soft like pudding. I can push them a long way down.
The reason for this is that with the HKS GGV my fork doesn't have no more breakaway torque, this is complete eliminated.
When I ride her than the front fork is smooth but also feels very stiff, so the high and low-speed damping is doing its work like it should.
So at the end I have to say there is nothing what could replace professional work, service and Know-How - even when the price sometimes is a little bit higher.
And one of the best mods I ever made, I must repeat, is the Quick-Shifter from Healtech.

Unless I missed it, how much did the quick shifter run you? Did you install it yourself? If not, how much was labor?

Good information, Somchai.

Sadly they phased out the Ninja 250FI here and started selling the 300s.

Which made a lot of poeple happy, with the exception of current 250 owners, who wanted a 300 in the first place.

Here the truth about the Ninja 250 engine-power on dynos from an engine testbench:

1. US-Carburetor = 27.5 HP @ Crank

2. FI-Model (ECU=WVTA EU, IN) = 30.2 HP @ Crank (the graph's showing the power as 22.2 kW)

The FI-Models in TH may have around 31 HP @ Crank since their ignition is more advanced (IND, MY, PH = 32 HP).

It has disappeared the high-frequency whistling noise from the gearbox while riding.

No second 2-Fiddy out there like mine...
