Dynojet needles

Hey, i used some dynojet needles a while back and could never get the bike to run right. The look exactly like the ones in the sportismoto kit. Is there something special i was supposed to do?

Did you drill the slides?

What part of the bike is not running right? Bottom end, mid range, top end, idle or all of the above. Factory pro is by far the most recommended jet kits to use on these pre gens. You might also want to check that the rubber diaphames did not get ripped etc when putting the covers back over them in the carb. Those are by far the easiest things to mess up within the carb when doing work in there. They most certainly would contribute to a terrible running bike if they were messed up. Just have to make sure they are seated before clamping on down the two round black caps.

Actually, dynojet is used/sold by AP exhaust. The carbs are the same for the new-gen and pre-gen.

Did you set the needles up as recommended in the DJ instructions, i.e. on the 3rd slot with a clip, 2 washers, and another clip? It's not really necessary to drill the slides.

I actually didn't buy a kit. My cousin works for the local kawi dealership and gave me a spare set. I put them in last year and tried alot of settings and it just wouldnt run worth a crap. I think it was running pig rich. I dont remember.

I didn't drill the slides.
The diaphragms are not ripped. The bike runs good right now. I put back in the stock needles and shimed them with washers from the hardware store. What exactly is in the DJ instructions?
