Tires Tires Tires (ZZR)
I found some Avon tires that are the size I need (100/80-17 , 140/70 - 17) and I am wondering if anyone on this vast source of knowledge has experience with this type of tire.

No experience with them, but just ordered a Avon Roadrider for the front and will run a Bridgestone BT45 on the rear. This is also for a ZZR.

We are talking ZZR 250's. This site calls all pre 08's "PreGens". No provisions here for the bigger brothers!

Alright guys, ZZR 250's are not available to the USA unless imported from Canada or Asia/Europe. The ZZR has bigger rims than the pre gen ninja 250 and they also have different frames. The engine is pretty much the same.

Since majority of pre-gen Ninja have 16" wheels/tires and OP is asking for feedback on 17" tire size that are stock on all post-gen Ninja.
IMO, this thread should go to post-gen Ninja Tech forum. |

Hi folks - this tech forum is for all of these models:
(EX250-E, EX250-F, EX250-G, EX250-H) which includes the ZZR 250. As many of you know, it was a bit of a hybrid, much closer to the pre-gen 250's in most areas, but it does have sleeker styling and larger wheels/tires. But - I don't believe they are the same rims as on the new-gen bikes, so I felt it made more sense to be here in the ZZR-related forum anyway. But now that we're all here, does anyone have any experience or suggestions for the OP? What are the exact sizes for the OE tires on the ZZR?

Front - 100/80 - 17
Rear - 140/70 - 17 I can't seem to find that exact size at any dealership around me and those avon roadriders (guessing on name) seem to have the exact size. But I have never heard of avon tires. |

how about a 110/70 front and 140/70 rear. that would open up a wider selection of tires.
what size (width) are the rims? |

Braydon, are you near the border, if so order from Bike Bandit, Dennis Kirk or MotorCycle Superstore and pick up on US side. Free shipping and price is about 1/2 what you will pay in Canada. A little inconvenient but doable. Duty due a crossing.

Why not ride over the border and fit in USA then ride back.
Wouldn't that get around duty? |

actually, the 110/70 would/should be a wee bit shorter than a 100/80, but a bit wider. which way is the front fender too close to the tire?
