Thank you for being a ninjette.org member. We've just reached the 100 member milestone, with over 2,000 posts (not including almost 10,000 searchable motorcycling news items!). I'm not only happy that membership and usage of the site is growing steadily, but I'm also pleased that people continue to tell me that they are pleasantly surprised with both the content and the tone of this new Ninja 250 board. As always, if you have any suggestions to make this place even more attractive to you as a home for Ninja 250 owners, please just let me know.

Have a wonderful holiday season, and I hope you get in some good motorcycle rides this month, no matter how chilly it may be in your neck of the woods!

Best regards,
- Alex

Happy New Year, and thanks once again for being a ninjette.org member. In just the past 30 days we've doubled our membership (just crossed the 200 member threshold!), more than doubled our post count, and have more members online at one time than we used to have over the course of a full day. This growth hasn't kept us from keeping the board enjoyable, and I'm thankful to all of you for demonstrating that in just about every post. As always, if you have any suggestions to make this place even more attractive to you as a home for Ninja 250 owners, please just let me know.

Have a wonderful start to the new year, and I hope you're able to get your ninjette on some fun rides soon, no matter how chilly it may be in your neck of the woods!

Best regards,
- Alex

ninjette.org update

It's been a little while since I sent one of these out, and I just wanted to quickly update folks with some new items on www.ninjette.org. First, I'd really like to thank all of you who have invited friends and fellow ninjette owners to come take a peek at the site; we've added almost 150 new members in just the past month and this continues to grow each day. Almost all of this is by word-of-mouth rather than just random search engine results, and I really appreciate it.

There are two main contests going on simultaneously on the site right now. We have a logo contest well underway, and the voting ends at the end of February. The winner(s) will be announced right at the end of the month, and our logo will be updated pretty much immediately. If you'd like to see the finalists and cast a vote, here's a direct link:

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=12748

Finally, ninjette.org is very happy to announce its largest contest yet; we're raffling off an Area P Full Exhaust system that was generously donated by Area P. The raffle winner gets to pick their favorite of whichever one of the 4 versions that Area P manufactures. Here's a link to the main raffle page:

http://www.ninjette.org/index2.php?pageid=areap_raffle

Thanks again for all of your support so far. I couldn't be happier about how this place has grown over the past few months, and I'm glad that people are getting some enjoyment out of it.

Best regards,
- Alex

First, I'd really like to thank all of you who have invited friends and fellow ninjette owners to come take a peek at the site; we've just passed 700 members, and are adding 5 - 10 new folks just about every day. This continues to be primarily by word-of-mouth rather than search engine results, and I really appreciate it. These 700 members are posting like crazy, with 300+ new posts daily (and over 36,000 total now!), making it much harder to keep up on things than it once was. But that's a good thing!

Some of our members have also started to use the "Blog" section of the website a bit more. If you haven't seen their work yet, that area is right up here: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/blog.php All of us have our own space up there to use for our blogs if we want, and you can set up as many separate blogs within your own username as well if you like.

Some other members have started to plan for ninjette.org rallies this summer in different parts of the US, and some of these events are only a few weeks away. Check out the Group Rides section of the website for the latest details on each of those. On a much smaller scale, I just posted a ninjette.org day ride for Saturday, May 23rd here in the SF Bay Area. I would like to make it a monthly event, and am hoping for a decent turnout of ninjettes to head down Mines Road for lunch at the Junction.

Thanks again for all of your support for www.ninjette.org so far. I couldn't be happier about how this place has grown over the past few months, and I'm glad that people are getting some enjoyment out of it.

It's been a productive month here at ninjette.org. A short while ago, we launched a new wiki on the site. It can be reached right at http://wiki.ninjette.org, and there's all of the launch information right in this thread:

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=20820

A few of our more websavvy members have been pushing for a wiki-like structure for awhile to help organize some of the ninjette technical information, and I hope that this will become a very useful section of the website. We're using the most widely supported wiki tool (mediawiki), with a few custom plug-ins to allow it to link pretty seamlessly with the rest of our site. I'm very eager to see how the wiki can grow. While I don't expect it to be all gangbusters in the immediate future, I think people will begin to see its worth sooner rather than later, and it could really become something we're all pretty proud of. Many of the most often-linked technical threads are already represented over there, and more are added each day. Just like Wikipedia, any of us can add new pages to the NinjetteWiki or edit any of the already existing pages with only a few keystrokes.

On perhaps a much less useful but perhaps more entertaining note, we also have a brand-new arcade on the site! Here's a direct link:

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=33

150+ different games, and the highscores are saved so we can all compete against each other for bragging rights. Amazingly, people have played over 7400 games already in just the short time it's been live. There are old favorites like Asteroids, Space Invaders, and Frogger, along with a whole pile of games that may not have quite the same name recognition.

Our site membership is growing faster than ever as well; we just passed 1000 members a few days ago, along with the 50,000 post milestone at right about the same time! Some of our members have even found some time to step away from their computers and actually meet up for some rides, which I think is the point of this whole thing. :-) Check out the Group Rides section of the website for the latest details on some of the more organized rides. I have posted up another ninjette.org day ride for Saturday, June 27th here in the SF Bay Area, and expect it to be just as much fun as we all had last month.

Thanks again for all of your support for ninjette.org so far. I couldn't be happier about how this place has grown over the past few months, and I'm glad that people are getting some enjoyment out of it.

Best regards,
- Alex

It's been almost a year since I sent out the last user update, so I figured now was as good a time as any. Over that time period we've tripled our membership, tripled our post count, and continue to provide a fun place to chat about the most entertaining 250cc motorcycle on the planet. This email is intended to remind some of our newer members about features on our site that they may not have yet been exposed to.

The first one is a reminder about our NinjetteWiki. There should be a link to it at the top of just about all of the pages on our site, but it can be reached directly at:

http://wiki.ninjette.org

For some background on our wiki along with instructions on how to use it, check out this launch thread:

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=20820

Any of us can go in and add pages as we wish, edit pages that are out there, comment on existing pages, etc. It's a user-driven resource just like any other wiki that can become anything we want it to be. I continue to get rave reviews via emails and pm's from folks who have found what they needed in the wiki, but I know that can be so much better over time.

On top of our well-known Forums structure, we also have a place for our users to set up their own Blogs. Like the NinjetteWiki, there should be a link to the Blogs area at the top of most site pages. A few of us have used this to some success, but it is clear that it's not terribly well-traveled compared to the rest of the site. If you want to see the blogs that are out there, here's a direct link:

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/blog.php

On perhaps a much less useful but perhaps more entertaining note, I wanted to put in a plug for our on-site Arcade. 150+ different games, and the highscores are saved so we can all compete against each other for bragging rights. Traffic there has slowed down a bit compared to a few months back, maybe because "tjkamper" has such a commanding lead in the high score table. Are we really going to let him stay up there without a challenge? :-) Here's a direct link to the arcade:

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=33

Finally, wanted to remind folks about our ninjette.org store, also reachable from the Community Menu at the top of any page. There are a couple dozen products from t-shirts to mugs to onesies to, well, you get the idea. There are several different logos available, and if anyone has ideas for new logos or other products available at CafePress, just let me know.

Our site membership is growing faster than ever as well; we just passed 3000 members a few weeks back, and the signup rate is increasing along with our rise in Google rankings. We now have more new-gen-related ninjette traffic than anywhere else on the internet, by a wide margin. This traffic encouraged us to make a significant server migration awhile back, and it is so far holding up quite well under the increased load. Some of our members have even found some time to step away from their computers and actually meet up for some rides, which I think is the point of this whole thing. Check out the Group Rides section of the website for the latest details on some of the more organized rides.

Thanks again for all of your support for ninjette.org so far. I couldn't be happier about how this place has grown over the past year, and I'm glad that people are continuing to enjoy it!

Best regards,
- Alex

Happy Holidays from ninjette.org!

I wanted to wish all of our members a very happy holiday season. My last day at work for the year was yesterday, and I'm going to enjoy my time off, and hopefully even get a ride or two in before heading back after the new year. It's been a little while since our last user update, and in those past 7 or 8 months, membership and activity has continued to thrive here on the site. I'd like to thank each of you for helping make this site a fun and useful one for all of us, whether we're chatting about our ninjettes or debating less important subjects. And really, just about everything is less important than our motorcycles, when it comes right down to it. :-)

As always, I want to give a quick plug for the areas of the site that don't tend to get as much traffic (only because I think they could attract more if more folks knew about 'em...)

I've been negligent on sending out any site updates this year, and figured now was as good a time as any. The summer riding season has been fully underway for awhile, and I'm seeing more and more interesting ride reports, including group rides organized right here on our site. It's been a little while since our last user update, and in those past 7 or 8 months, membership and activity has continued to thrive here on the site. We're approaching 7,000 members and almost 300,000 posts, and I'd reckon a handful of them are even worthwhile! :-) Based on some great suggestions of our members, there have been a handful of new subforums created that are all receiving high levels of traffic. I'd like to thank each of you for helping make this site a fun and useful one for all of us, whether we're chatting about our ninjettes or debating less important subjects. And really, just about everything is less important than our motorcycles, when it comes right down to it.

I wanted to give a quick plug for the re-implemented Member Map. It has several new features that our old one didn't, including the ability to easily search for nearby riders a number of different ways. Please check it out and add yourself to this new one if you haven't already, it only takes a moment:

Hi all!

It's been about a year since the last email I sent out to the ninjette.org membership, and now's a great time to remedy that. While we're just finishing up the summer riding season, there are a whole bunch of topics that continue to keep us excited about our favorite bikes.

For those who may not be aware, Kawasaki has surprised most everybody by discontinuing the Ninja 250R in much of the world. By replacing it with a Ninja 300! New styling, new engine, and dozens and dozens of other interesting nips/tucks/tweaks that make the 2013 model particularly interesting. I just picked up my own (OK, it's supposed to be Annie's) this morning, and its first long ride is scheduled for tomorrow morning. On the site itself, we have new tech and farkles sections for the 2013+ bikes, as well as a whole pile of "300"-related threads in the General section.

Traffic on the site has continued to rise. We're now up over 11,000 members strong, and approaching 500,000 posts within the next two or three months. This necessitated a server move a few months back, and for the first time we are no longer on a shared infrastructure; ninjette.org is running on its own standalone server that's doing its best to keep up.

I hope everyone's weekend is going well, and if it happened to include some fun rides, come on back and tell us about 'em!

Best regards,
- Alex

Hi all!

I wanted to send out a quick update to the ninjette.org membership; it's been quite a few months since the last email blast. Last month I was unfortunate enough to destroy a motorcycle, but fortunately it was not the Ninja 300, or I'd have even more explaining to do for the members here. I've been off two wheels since, but hope to be back in riding shape soon. In the meantime, that means more time to tweak our website, and that's what I wanted to share today.

We've formalized the member of the month contest, which can be found in a sticky thread in the General section. Each winner has the opportunity to request some type of improvement or upgrade to either their account, or to the whole site. Some of them have been quite creative, and I'm glad to help out. There are a few new subforums in the marketplace area, aimed at buyer/seller feedback for transactions that happen here at the site. While there have occasionally been some one-off reviews, these now provide a simple place for those looking for that content. Our traffic has stabilized over the past few months, with an expected ramp-up once again as riding season approaches. We crossed 500,000 posts a few months back, and have almost 12,500 members.

Kerry from Area P has set up two new group buys for those interested in full exhaust systems for either their 2008-2012 Ninja 250, or the new 2013 Ninja 300. There is a sizable discount on the units, and there is also a drawing for a free exhaust for one of the buyers of each if we have enough participants. We're already at that threshold for the Ninja 300 group buy, and well on our way for the Ninja 250 group buy. All of the details are in the group buy threads in the Marketplace; there are links to those right in an announcement at the top of the site.

I hope everyone's weekend is going well, and if it happened to include some fun rides, come one back and tell us about them!

Best regards,
- Alex

Hi All!

I wanted to send a quick message to wish each ninjette.org member a happy and healthy holiday season. It's been an eventful year for many of us here on the site, with many, many tales of great riding adventures coupled with some pretty hard times for a few of our members. For those who are continuing to heal up, best wishes for a continued and complete recovery.

I hope those of us in warmer climes are able to fit in some fun rides before heading back to work in January, and are able to share some pics of them online, if only to make those in the frozen north that much more eager for spring to come quickly!

Best regards,
- Alex

I was just thinking about how great the weather was today on my way to work..I believe it was 68 or so here in Sacramento. Actually wore the Mesh jacket the last few days.

Happy Holidays everyone! Don't forget to give your Ninjette's some love

Hi all!

I wanted to send out a quick update to the ninjette.org membership; it's been quite a few months since the last email blast. As the peak riding season is looming, the traffic and usage of the site is also starting to grow, as it does in most years around this time. It's always good to see the new riders joining up, along with all of the folks who have been with us for over 5 years. We're fast approaching 700,000 posts and 16,000 members!

From a site architecture standpoint, things are in a great state as well. I moved the entire site over to SSL a short while back, to better protect any user information that is passed from your computer to our servers. If you are having any problems seeing the site since the upgrade, some XP users were able to fix their issue by upgrading to Service Pack 3. I've been working quite hard on our email capabilities, making it more likely that the PM and thread updates that you do expect to receive from the site are actually making it to your inbox. This mass email will be a test of some of that work, and hopefully there will be fewer blocks and bounces than I've seen in the past. Our webserver itself is now about as optimized and robust as I can make it, which means that page refreshes, searches, and any other task should be almost instant.

Lastly, Kerry from Area P has just launched another ninjette.org-exclusive group buy for those interested in full exhaust systems for either their 2008-2012 Ninja 250 or the 2013 Ninja 300. There is a sizable discount on the units, and there is also a drawing for a free exhaust for one of the buyers of each if we have enough participants. All of the details are in the group buy thread right here: https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=176410.

I hope everyone's weekend is going well, and if it happened to include some fun rides, come on back and tell us about them!

Best regards,
- Alex

Hi xxxx!

I wanted to wish a very happy year to all of the ninjette.org membership; it's been many months since the last email blast. For those lucky enough to be able to ride this time of year, I hope you're making the most of it. For those whose bikes are sitting inside a toasty garage until spring, I hope that sites like ours can help keep the motorcycling bug content until the sun comes back out.

Two quick links of new year related threads:

ninjette.org's member of the year contest for 2015: https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=254642
ninjette.org's mileage contest thread for 2016: https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=254664

I hope everyone's new year celebration went well, and if the upcoming holiday weekend happens to include some fun rides, come on back and tell us about them!

Best regards,
- Alex
