We finally have Spring
Decided to "Simulate the Economy" and bought a new to me cage. Found a 2007 Pontiac Vibe with 30,000mi at our local dealer. The car is in fantastic shape and has all the whistles and bells--and a 5Sp manual transmission with front wheel drive. It was time to replace our old Ford Escort wagon with 250,000mi and terminal rust. Spring has come and all of a sudden I am so busy with bicycle customers that I have to set up appointments. Seems like everybody has been buying stuff for their bicycles and have attempted to install the stuff but found that it did not perform as promised--so I end up installing it correctly or tuning things up. It never ceases to amaze me that people wait for the weather to get nice and then decide to have their bikes worked on. They had all winter--and this was a long one. Anyway, it is good for business. I almost have more business than I can handle. Am glad I am not a dealer and only a repair shop. It`s a lot easier when you don`t have to sell bikes and stuff--although I do order upgrades and parts. It`s nice to have work--especially when you enjoy doing it.

Glad to hear things are going well for you Alex. I hope your job doesn't interfere with your time to ride. They always have a way of doing that.

Ryan, It`s not really a job--I sort of fell into it. I`ll take care of what I comitted to do and will then close my door. I do need time to train for The Trek Across Maine--a 186mi bicycle event. This will be my fifth time running. I also have several Time Trials to compete in, and this will be my first Criterium Race. I suspect that I will get my a-- handed to me on that one. I also plan several trips to Central New York to see my 96 year old mother and older sister--those will be done on the Ninja. A trip to Maryland is also in the offing to see my Classic BMW riding friend. Looks like a good summer. Motorcycling is still my second sport--bicycling being first.

Well as long as your "job" doesn't keep you from your true passions you should be good. If/when you make it down to Maryland let me know maybe we can meet up for a ride or something. It looks like with my racing schedule this summer I won't be making any trips up your way until the fall at the earliest. I think I have maybe 3 weekends where I don't have an event.

Will definitely do that. Really glad you have a full racing schedule. Be safe.
