2007 ZX6R Clutch Spring Plate/Clutch Spring Direction?

I apologize if this is not in the right category but figured someone would know.
Does anyone know which direction the clutch spring and spring plate face? The spring plate has a flat and slightly beveled edge and the spring has a flat edge and more noticeable curve to it. The shop manual is a bit confusing and my instinct is to put both flat sides going in with bevels facing out (away from bike). These also are more like large metal o-rings than springs but that's the name in the manual. I didn't take notice when I took it apart obviously so any help is appreciated. I also have 3 different width clutch plates and from what I can tell the 2.3 and 2.9 are for the inside and outside and 2.6 are the middle ones. If anyone is familiar with this, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I really should have taken a pic before disassembly because I'm not sure which groove they go in since they fit in both notches. I will have to google a few pics to make sure. Thanks for your help and getting back so fast! (When I uploaded the pic, it rotated it 90 degress CCW so it probably looks way off)
