Tach wire picture

If anyone has time, can someone take an actual picture of where the tach goes into the engine? Mine randomly stopped working one day... And I'm garbage at wiring diagrams. Also, any other suggestions? I've read that the tach needles randomly get stuck? It's an '08 with about 5000 miles

Trace black wire from left coil.
Not sure what can be done though.
Seems early '08 models had some issues with ignition box overheating and giving erroneous tach reading.

Hmmmm.... The bike was cold on startup. Happened almost immediately after starting. Hopefully not that. I was thinking a loose wire, or worst case swapping the tach...

1. Sure, measure resistance between black-wire connector at left-coil to other end of that wire at cluster connector.

2. Would also need to measure resistance of segment between cluster connector to tach circuit-board itself.

3. Then there's signal itself on that wire. Would need oscilloscope to inspect that signal. Should look something like this with logic high most of the time with grounding drops to fire coil.

Also look at circuit board of tach for ballooned or blown capacitors.
