LOL - I just found it online, and quite by accident.... merely a fantasy post.

Hmmm...being a film student I could use this is soo many places. Car action scenes, motorcycle chases, sets with tight areas to work with, etc.

That's so freaking cool...

Yup, I am majoring in film as well and seeing that made my mouth drop. That is my dream to ride something like that and see the footage I record.

I hope that rider has thousands of miles under his belt. I wouldn't want to go down with that camera. I wonder what the cost of one of those is??? Probably way more than that sweet Ducati.

I'll stick with my GoPro!

If money were no option, I'd go with one of the Red digi cameras. They are not only amazing and beautiful cameras, but tiny as well.

My thought about crashing with the pictured rig wasn't about damage to the camera, but damage to the rider vs. steel rig.

Is that a boxer engine?

Oh he will be fine. He is wearing tennis shoes. Those offer the best foot protection for riding.

Man, would be interesting to see him trying to get his knee down with that rig attached, haha.

Technically, why would it be better to spend 50k+ on this setup than a GoPro on a gimble?

It looks like a film camera. Granted I know very little about professional cameras, so I'm not sure if your comment would also apply to film cameras as it would digital.

It's an Arri film camera, at the very least a 35mm, if not a larger format, judging from the size of the camera body. The lens itself is probably worth more than a Ducati. Hell, the rails, matte box and filters are worth more than our bikes.

I suppose that's why most film crews rent/lease their cameras.... at least that what I was once told.
