You guys might hate me for this...............

I used to own R6 and R1 back in 1998-2000. I've quite riding until 2008 when gas price got to $4 bucks a gallon. I got back into riding and purchase 2008 Green Ninja 250. Own and rode it for a year and after 8000+ miles later, I've been having this itch to move back to a 600cc. This is what I had:

Now, this is what I have:

Thanks guys!

I was thinking of a 650R Ninja but I have a friend that is a cycle dealer and he had gave me a great dealer on this zx6r. I rode it around a few times and found the riding position to be comfy.

If you would like a chance at a great deal on motorcycle, PM me and I will give you his contact number. He has access to a "cycle dream" warehouse full of powersports vehicle. I have seen this warehouse with my own eyes and now I know that there are great deals out there.

I ready miss the 250 Ninja and would've like to keep it but can't really afford to. I would encourage anyone that is ready and have the thought of getting something bigger to do so. It is a once in a life time experience.

Thanks again guys!

Have fun, EJ... just be careful on it. Good that you bought a black one so it's not as fast as a green one would be.

You know Kelly, I was seriously considering of having it paint green. When I get really used to the power and need the bike to go faster, I will then make the commitment.

Wow EJ. Nice bike. I think about doing something similar all the time, but mostly when I'm surfing the internet. When I'm on backroads I'm thinking it's hard to beat the 250.

Congratulations

Thanks Jody! I've been wanting to hit you and Nathan up for some ride time but been busy and weather has been crappy here. If you decide to move to a different bike, let me. I have a friend that might get you a great deal on just about any cycle.

I have to say that this bike is defiantly slower in turns or it could be just me taking it to easy. But the technology behind this bike makes it worth owning.

Let me know when you and Nathan got time for a ride.

Man, that thing looks AWSOME. Makes me wish i had one to pose with . Looks like the black 250R on steroids.

How does the power compare between the two? Like pulling away from a stop light (not racing) is there that much difference?

I'll be getting mine once i'm outta school and the paychecks start rolling in every week 52 weeks a year.

It does look sick, like something out of a terminator movie. 250cc and a 600cc is really two different worlds. I've been riding this thing on the highway and never made it to 5 and 6 gear. On regular city street, I'm hitting 60mph (in 3 seconds and two shifts up) quicker than I expected. To be honest, this is an overkill for my practical everyday use. If it wasn't for the great deal, I probably wouldn't pick this supersport. But, having owned it for a week, I don't regret purchasing it.

This warehouse that I'm referring to is off Fulton Industrial blvd. Here is the website to the auction warehouse http://www.npauctions.com/ Don't know of the one in Kennesaw off of cobb pkwy. He gets access to this warehouse like all the other used cycle dealers. There's motorcycles from different states and it comes in as repos, uncurrent (left overs), trade ins, wholesale etc.... He is such a small dealer that you don't have to pay for that expensive overhead fees. Thats why he can get you the great deals while others tries to rape you on their price. For all of you guys/gals who loves motorcycle, this is a cycles garage heaven. Visit the auction website and you'll see what I mean.

The difference is more obvious from the back. The 600 rear tire looks huge.

We rode some backroads for a while. I think the 250 is a lot more nimble in the twisties, but the 600 can smoke it on straight aways (big surprise). The sitting position on the 600 is extreme though. I don't think I'd be happy on that bike on a long ride. That's not knocking the 600. It's a gorgeous, powerful machine, but probably shouldn't be your first choice for touring the continent.

Thanks for posting the pic Jody. It was a great ride with you and Nathan.

Jody is right. I rode the twist with Nathan and he could easily lose me in the turns. I had to lean the sh!t out of that bike to make those tight turns (No problem knee dragging there). After a 40 minute ride, I had to get off of that bike to stretch. I hear that the CBR F4's are more comfy.

nice! have fun!

if I had a choice tho, I probably would have gone with an older 636 than the 07 zx-6r.. there's discussion on the other forum that the 636 stomps a lot more than even the new 09 zx-6r, even at stock to stock comparison

wow.. that 6r is awesome... I want one in green of course... also worried that the power might be too much... I have fast cars, but they pale in comparison to fast bikes... I love my 250, just wish it had a bit more power... and I really like the visual upgrades to the 08/09s

best of luck with it!

Thanks yal!

Adam, I mention earlier that this bike is an overkill for my daily usage. My reasons for purchase was a great deal and I wanted more power as well (wanted 650R). I have yet to WOT this thing. Too afraid for the moment.

Patrick, I'm pretty sure the 636 is faster since it's a bigger cc. This 6r is too fast as it is for me. I'll see how long I will keep it.

Dam! You know...........when deciding to up grade to a bigger bike, you wager the pros and the cons. Higher expense maintenance, lower MPG etc....and after accepting the cons of up grading, it really doesn't hit you until you paid for it.

250 Ninja cost of oil change: $25
ZX6R cost of oil change: $45

250 Ninja MPG: 60 mpg
ZX6R MPG: 40 mpg

I get 40 mpg by keeping the RPM under 8K. Ouch

Those are parts only (DIY) price for oil filter and synethic oil.

You don't want me to quote shop price for oil change. I would imagine shop price is at least X2 price I listed above. I know tires will cost more as well, which I'm glad I won't need to change for a while.
