I think he was just wanting to inform people who are buying/installing them that they will need to do a bit more work to put the shinto's on over the WC since the shintos require the removal of the triple tree while WC just bolt around it.

REALLY?I took mine off to put them on and i also dropped fork for better clearance as per Kkim...I didn't think i could open up the clip on enough to fit around fork but either way i prefer to keep the integrity of the clip on and just remove triple tree it really isnt that much of a process

Yes, the upper triple clamp must be removed in order to install the clip-ons. I installed mine last night, but everything is not quite done yet. I am having some serious clearance issues around the gauge cluster and the black dash plastic on either side of the bars. No matter how I position the clip-ons, something still rubs. Anyone else have a similar problem?

paul has these installed on his bike, everything should clear no problem, but may take some time to properly adjust. i have asked him to do an install video similar to his rearsets install video.

many people had clearance issues with the woodcrafts, but after spending some time to properly adjust, had no issues.

Lower your fork....keep your triple tree on but loosen up the side screws on triple tree where the fork comes through the triple tree....keep cente bolt in...loosen the two fork screws and then start to loosen teh middle bolt which will cause the fork to lower and lower until the fork protrudes out of the triple tree minimally and the tighten up the fork screws...that will afford you clearance but will speed up your turnin as per Kkim

the shintos dont quite offer the clearance past the triple tree that teh woodcrafts offer

Honestly, after installing them under the triple clamp, I thought that is where they were designed to go. The actual clearance between the bars and the triple clamp is non existent. The risers set directly against and flush with the top of the triple clamp. However, if they were designed to go on top, then that puts everything back to stock height Paul has them mounted underneath in his video.

Oh well... more tinkering tomorrow!

Paul said they can be mounted both on top or bottom. If mounted on bottom it WILL rub or hit at full turn. You will lose 10% of your full turn.
If mounted on top, you'll have no clearance issue but have to raise the fork 5mm or so for mounting.

Looking at the clipon it appears that you can put a few washers between to move the base out away from the triple tree for clearance a bit

I've been tinkering for two days and i dont see how its going to work, i guess im out a 120 or so dollars...clearance is major issue n for it to go above would be major change in ergos of bike

maybe.....you should email paul for some install tips as he has them on his bike with no problems. i have asked him to do an install video for the clip-ons similar to the video he did for the rearsets. until he gets a chance to put one together, i'm sure he'd be happy to offer some insight on installation.....

Just a thought, try to lower you front end, so you have part of the shock sticking up so you can put the clip ons on top. Like this!

then my bike will be really low past that 1" mark that kKim said we shouldnt past

Ok i feel stupid i didnt realize that i put the brake on the wrong side but i still have clearance issue

okay, just went outside to measure my bike. I have 1.75" of fork tube sticking up above the upper surface of the triple clamps and have no problems with my fender touching the bottom of my front undercowl.

use this measurement at your own risk.

Also, I just looked at my bike, and with the oem handle bars off, I have about 1/2" sticking up. So really you would have to drop it like anther 1/2inch.

I was thinking you could instail them on top of the triple tree, but looking at the video, it seems they are made to go under. Can you adjust the bars upward to give more distance between them and the body?

took about 4 hours and alot of adjusting and patience but i finally got them where i like them i can turn full lock and it gets soooooo close to touching on both sides haha but just keep adjusting them and make sure that they are as far up as they can go on the fork. anyways if you guys want any other angles of it just let me know and i'll go out and take some.

dunno... my response was directed to illrational's comment about me saying to lower no more than 1", which is why I quoted him.

Okay so I installed on top and have to lower front 1" to fit. No clearance issue. Then I mounted underneath, after adjusted to my fitment there is a slight or barely rub at the fairing at full clock. What we can do is find an 1" aluminum tube, cut into 2.5" or so segment then cut the tube in half. This then can be used as a spacer between the clipon base and the handlebar. This prob will give enough clearance to solve rubbing issue.

they are SSR preload adjustor. The other one is Scott steering damper.
