I need Help :s

Hi Fellows Ninjetees,

Is the rookie again, I am new to this, I just recently bought a 2003 Ninja 250R, and The Battery was dead, but the bike is a awsome conditions, I bought a new battery, the bike was store for 7 months, and since I am a new owner and new to bikes I am trying to start it. to ride it. The problem is that, I put the new battery, try to start it , but it dont turn on now. :s.

I pur the choke all the way up, start(pushed button) the bike for 10 seconds and wait 20 secs to 30 in each interval so the fuel can kick to the carb, but what happen my new battery was drain almost. :S I put new fuel to the tank, and now I am charging the new batery. Does any have any tips or recomendation for my situation.

Thanks

Charge the battery and see what happens. Can you hear it trying to start and not turn over or are you just getting nothing from it at all?

Did you write that you stored the bike for 7 months after taking ownership?

Sounds like carb issues from the bike sitting too long.

might need a valve job. mine did this when i bought mine used. It would start right away then a two months later it kept draining my battery after battery till i got the valves adjusted. Just a thought.

I remember a quote I heard once, "the difference between a valve adjustment and a valve job is like the difference between adjusting a bra and getting breast implants." Checking the valves are in spec is always a good idea, though.
