FS: Red 2010 heavily modified 250r. Bloomington, Indiana

UPDATED PICTURES: it was 20degrees out but I uncovered her and got some updated pictures. I didn't wash it (common, it's 20 degrees out!) but I tried to show everything people asked to see.

I’m selling my red 2010 Ninja 250r with about EDIT: 10.5k miles (I’m still riding it until I sell it, if you want exact numbers, let me know). This is an extremely CUSTOM bike with a ton of time, money, and love put into it. I downgraded to a 2013 ZX6R abs model and don’t have the space to keep this bike too. I’m asking a very modest $3,000 for the bike considering the amount of aftermarket parts and performance tweaks. It’s really a bike best used on the track but is more than capable on the streets. None of the parts listed below were replaced due to OEM failure except for the front turn signals. I did not keep the OEM parts (I either donated or sold them via ninjette.org.

The bike was low-sided once when it was around 2,800 miles. I had new tires put on and they slipped causing a less than 10 mile per hour low slide. Absolutely no damage was caused to the bike other than a few scrapes in the right front fairings and a broken front right turn signal (replaced). The only other minor issue (which isn’t applicable to most people) is that the ignition has a tendency to freeze in the winter if you don’t spray some WD-40 in it every couple of weeks. If this is a deal breaker, I have no issues replacing the ignition (only costs about $40 and takes less than an hour). EDIT: Yes, valve clearance was done at around 7k miles. All the normal maintenance in the manual were preformed at the proper time.

This bike was taken to the race track multiple times and never crashed (other than low-side mentioned above). I’ve changed the oil after the first 100 miles, 600miles, and then following every 3,000 miles as well as a change before and after winter. I’ve always put in Royal Purple 10w-40 full syth and replaced with K&N oil filters each change. The engine brake-in was done as a hard brake-in to maximize engine life and power. Chain cleaned/adjusted (if needed) every couple of weeks. I’ve kept detailed logs of most the work I’ve done to this bike.

I’m only going to try and sell this for a month or so. After that I’d rather part it out then spend more time trying to sell it. This is a real steal if you’re looking for a quick bike with excellent handling and MPG (riding it very hard, I average about 55~60mpg. Babying it, I got up to 81mpg http://www.reddit.com/r/250r/comment...t_her_10_250r/ ). Sale isn’t urgent so if you are interested but need more time, just let me know. I’m willing to work with you if you’re willing to work with me.

You can test ride ONLY if the money is in my hand. The only trades I’ll consider are for a dual sport, otherwise cash only. I’m selling bike as is. If you want any specific pictures or information, don’t hesitate to email/text me. I work 3rd shift, so I might be difficult to reach via phone unless you call between 8am-noon or 5pm-midnight. I am the original owner and I bought this bike brand new (paid in full) February 4th, 2011. I have the title in hand.

Thanks guys. I have a couple people coming to look at it tomorrow; hopefully something works out as it would be extremely nice to sell it this quickly I'd love to use the money for a new exhaust on the 636 (which I won't have for a few weeks since it was a custom order)

We'll have to see if the buyer asks for them. Whatever doesn't sell with the bike will probably go up here for free or dirt cheap. One of the guys who contacted me used to ride a 250 so he seems promising since he knows how awesome these bikes really are.

Edit: yeah, it's not about the money. Locally, IU Bloomington is known to be the home of a lot of squids and 'bad' riders. It's rare to see someone smart enough to buy a 250, so I'm trying to keep the price as 'fair' to that as I can. I'd much MUCH rather sell it for $2,400 to a member here than $3,000 to some random guy. That's why I'll just do a part out here if it doesn't sell by the time my posts expire.

That's very admirable of you. I would not feel comfortable selling a bike to a squid.

If you do decide to part out contact me about preload adjusters and your fork springs if you're selling those. And the jet kit too!

Ugh, why are bikes so much more expensive in California? Still you're really giving that bike away. I wish I could buy it. Sounds like a very well-taken care of and tastefully modified bike.

If I were in Cali or if someone here were willing to pay $3,500 for it, I sure would :P

For now, it's just about selling it quickly with little effort as I'm a busy guy. Once my 636 comes in and this freak snow dissipates, I don't think I'll even have time to mess with the sale until I take a vacation.

As an update: I have 3 people who are good candidates to buy. One, seeing it for the first time on Friday, one for the second time on Friday (for a test drive) and one for the first time on Saturday.

@Trailerboy531 no word on those preloads yet :P

Sorry =\ ended up wanting them. Didn't feel like it would be fair for me to say no when it was in the original advert for the bike. If you were really interested in preloads, you can buy them directly here http://www.slingshotracing.net/catal...ers-p-191.html
