Selling the Ninja :(

The time has come. *thunder sound in the background*

I did not think that I would sell my ninjette, but it's a great opportunity for a new owner to enjoy a really awesome bike.

I'll still be very active on this site and posting, so be happy. Purspeed is not going ANYWHERE (despite the fact that he hates Alex and Kkim).

Here is a link, if anyone is interested...

Absolutely. I will be purchasing a larger bike (600cc or 748cc). I am still not 100% set on any one model, however.

I plan to purchase another Ninja 250r in the near future.

It just occurred to me. You live in L.A.

Your freeway commuting sees you getting up to upwards of 50mph most of the time during the day. You're getting a bigger bike partly for "safe freeway riding"?

Hahaha...50 mph? On a lucky day!

I'm actually getting a Vespa with some NOS for incredible power to weight ratios.

I'd go up to L.A. at least once a month to go riding and/or hang out with people, and even at 10pm-11pm at night there'd be stop and go traffic everywhere. I'd get up to 30mph in stretches... CUTTING TRAFFIC. The last time I was there it took about 45 minutes to go 10 miles (to go to the Pirate Adventure in Buena Park)

It really depends on where you are and at what time.

I drive all over LA, orange county, hollywood, etc. and know those freeways inside and out.

If you go up the 60 Pomona to the 71, you can easily reach 150mph's on a serious bike on the 71 stretch. I don't ride at suicidal speeds, but that's what I've been told.

But, the bottom line is: I love LA.

I think you could be the first rerun of E.T.! Someone's gonna see you flying in front of the moon on that thing!

Oh, just my I would look for a 636 like Muffinman's. Great bikes, those! I had so much fun on the one I road!

E.T. is the best movie in the world.

A 636 is on my short list. So is a 2009 red Ninja 250r, a CBR600f4 or RR, a Yamie R6 and Ducati 748 (one in particular that I've been looking at).

I learned to ride (many a year ago) on a CBR600F2 and also, believe it or not, on a Honda 250cc scooter that was kind of quick.

I'm all over the place with my selection, but each bike has its strengths and weaknesses.

Contrary to what I appear to project, I have the greatest admiration for the Ninja 250r, especially the new gen's.

I was reluctant to buy my 2007 because I had a deposit on an '08, but that did not pan out. I have a spiritual connection with my Ninja, but I'm looking to broaden my experience.

I also would like someone else to experience the unique configuration of my bike. Nothing is worthwhile unless it is shared. What would be the point of this forum if that were not true.

I will be joining you soon however I hope to keep my ninja pregen for my younger brother. I will be looking at the Honda CBR F4i and ZX6R/ZZR-600. If my brother doesn't want it I know my dad will keep it for himself to ride around in our city on Sundays.

I was planning on keeping it for family or friends, but I am insistent on proper gear and most of them are not dedicated enough to shell out the bucks for gear.

So...it's either going to be a garage queen or it's going to be a new owners little jewel.

I believe that we cannot own anything. We are only custodians of the things we have. That in mind, I like the idea of a new owner caring and appreciating the bike the way I do.

Those ZZR600 are a nice bike for sure, no fuel injection, but it wouldn't stop me from buying one. Good performance and comfort.

Yeah - I live in SoCal where the weather isn't that dramatic so carbs are fine.

I live in Hawaii and carbs are a real issue here... I'd imagine it would be for you, too. It's the POS gas they use.

The POS gas is POS. Especially when they add a bit of water to the mix when prices skyrocket.

Extremely.

I almost called the buyer up a few moments after he left to tell him that I changed my mind. I had to take a moment to get my senses back.

I'm officially bikeless. So, the search begins. I'm thinking BUSA!!!!

not sure how you feel about the honda interceptor, but you can get a brand new 07 non-abs for about $8000 out the door.

I just hit 8200 miles on my 09 Ninja 250 & still love it, but i have been looking for another bike and if it happened today it would be the new Yamaha FZ6R

The Yamaha FZ6R list for $6,999, but a dealer in Atlanta has them for $5,999 currently, and the reviews are all positive on these bikes.

I know the sick feeling, but not with the bike... can you believe I actually cried when we gave my mom my '02 Hyundai Accent despite the fact that my brand-new, custom '04 WRX was parked in front of and waiting for me?

Friend of mine just got one---a very nicely engineered machine--and it is comfortable. I like the fact that the handlebars can be adjusted to suit the rider. I think that Yamaha has a winner. I would love to see them make a 250 in that configuration.

I was pretty emotional about last night. I feel ya. It was unexpected. I thought that I would just sell it and be done. All of the Jerry Springer Raw Emotion came out. I maintained my composure, though.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward Yamaha, but really am not set on anything concrete. I still need to save up a bit of money, too. That will give me more options.

I was looking at an older R6. The FZ's are great, too. They look pretty awesome.

They also look real cool. The most important reason to ride!
