My ZX-6 is dead...

Our garage burned down 2 weeks ago and took my ZX-6 with it. It also took along one of our pickups, one of our cars, our Conversion Van, Go Cart, two four wheelers, car trailer, and some farm equipment. But my 250 made it. The fire dept was finally able to get it under control. They weren't able to start right away because of the exposions. With all the gas, and welders, cutting torches, etc. it was too dangerous for a while. I uploaded a few pics my son took. You can see the front forks and the 4-in-1 Vance & Hines exhaust sticking straight up. The whole mess is a total loss but at least nobody was hurt.

oh wow... and i thought i had it bad with my bike's fall... terrible to see such a loss.

there are always things that put you in perspective. now we just need to look at the disaster in japan and then even this garage/workshop fire doesn't seem like much either.

as you mentioned most importantly no one got hurt over there with the fire. that's something that money can not fix, well at least not the way it can buy a new bike or car.

best wishes with the clean up~

Question

Was there a cause to the fire?

Thanks. It was caused by a brush fire. It was hot and windy which made it very difficult for the fire dept to get it under control before major property damage was done.

Sorry for the the loss, but I think your all looking at the glass half empty! After the insurance check its shopping time! Oh the fun of looking for new toys. What could be more fun that spending a couple days getting new more toys.

Bikes are replaceable, people aren't. Glad no one was hurt.

Speaking of replacement, I'm guessing Kawasaki will bring out a redesigned ZX-6 next year. Worth looking in to...

Thank you all. The insurance won't cover but a small percentage of the worth, but I am so glad that nobody was hurt or killed and the fire dept was able to put it out before it got to the house. So while it makes me sad to look at the melted hulk of a bike that I put alot time and $ customizing how I wanted it, it could have been SO MUCH worse!

On the bright side, you could make a pretty badass art piece with the remains. Conversational, snazzy, AND hardcore.

That is a great idea. I will need to dig it out of there and see if it will make a good sculpture for our front lawn. That would definitely start some conversations.

Insurance company will probably want it for scrap.
