04 ninja 250 carb issue

Hi there I've got a 2004 ninja 250 and when I crank the bike over to start it fuel shoots out of the overflow on the carbs.. Not sure if it's a vacuum issue or what. Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks!

I am not sure of the problem you are describing but I did have a similar issue with a Vulcan 750. When the bike started the carbs would flood out and the bike would stall. This issue was incorrectly connected vacuum hoses to the vents on the carbs. Since you said your issue happens while cranking I believe the post above saying to rebuild the carb is correct. I believe the Ninja 250 has the vacuum fuel shut off so when the motor cranks (which creates vacuum) the fuel flows and there is nothing stopping it from over filling the carb. You can try pulling the bad carb(s) and cleaning the float valve seat but it would be smarter to just rebuild them since you will have them out anyways. Good luck and post up your results.
