Honda Pacific Coast 800

Honda's most mis-understood bike. Has anyone here had one?

Biggest scooter ever or super commuter?

Oh and it has a trunk that can double as an ice chest

I know a guy that has one, he love's it. He says it's very comfy and has storage too. To me it has dated looks these days but it was made in early to late 90's or somewhere around then.

Cool

I think my Burgman 650 has better power to weight ratio... 50 hp/600 lb... and more storage (for 2 full face helmets).. twist-n-go with clutch-less button shifting. I bought mine used w/damage, $2k. Great for 2-up touring, my wife loves the backrest. The weight of the Burgman is down low near the ground, very well balanced vehicle, very stable at parking lot speed and highway speed.

I'm aware of someone who had one and wouldn't quit with the laurels of owning one. Means he had the biggest scooter in the world and was embarrested to the point we never saw it at a road rally.

My 2005 EX250 looks rather dated

Good read about the PC800 here: http://race-the-sunset.blogspot.com/...fic-coast.html

I'm no motorcycle snob and if an owner is happy with the PC or Burgman, I'm happy for them. But it just doesn't work for me. When I first saw the PC I thought it looked like a porta potty on wheels, the Burgman looks better but super scooters are for someone else not me. Just my humble opinion.

I said the same thing to myself for the longest time, until a riding friend let me ride his Burgman 650 around, two grown men in full riding gear zooming around in downtown Philly traffic, hop on the expressway and got up to 85 mph with ease.. I realized how easy that thing is to ride, I had to get one just for two-up riding with my wife.

Nowadays, it's our designated two-up vehicle..
