Sorry I missed it. I was in the area but went to Lost City, WV. I hope the ride was good. Post some pics if you took some. And let us know if you are planning another ride.

Well me and Scorch (from Ninja250forum) met up at sheetz in Haymarket. We rode with a rider from dcsportbikes.com on a harley vrod down to sperryville. I had my first taste of riding 211.. I learned that thats a very dangerous place, but at a reasonable pace, its just like any other road.

afterwards we hit elizabeth furnace.. it was all good, the roads were clean

It was good ride altogether.

I got a total of 300 or so miles.

Here is a pic, sorry about the lack thereof..

Yes. Yes it is.
Just ask Madeline:

It's also the best set of twisties within a decent radius of DC. 33 is a little better, but that's almost another hour away. First thing I do with the new bike is go back to that stupid road and show it that I'm still alive.

Yea, Im currently a college student in Harrisonburg, VA (where 33 intersects I-81). And by the looks of this google map, I think I will be spoiled with 33 and Skyline drive within 30 minutes and 211 about an hour away. Man I cant wait to move in my apartment next week!

Any suggestions on 33? and when you say "33" are you talking about the strip the goes through the WV line? thanks

Yup, totaled.
The good news is that even with a $500 deductible, insurance is actually paying me $66 more than what I paid for her, because they (Progressive through USAA) cover damaged gear (even if it's still usable) and all the upgrades to the bike.

Yeah, that super twisty section right on the border. The WV side of the mountain is pretty exposed, it has some really nice switchbacks but it's also very steep. The VA side has the tighter S curves where you can really fling the ninja side-to-side. There are some areas on both sides that are prone to collecting gravel and sometimes big trucks and speeding cages like to cross the double yellow, so keep an eye out.
