old member in S.F. Bay Area getting into AFM racing

Hi everyone. I've been dormant on here for a while. I'm getting into AFM Racing this year and bought a 2008 250R from the previous year's 250 Production winner. It came all prepped and ready for racing. I just have to change out the number plates and that's it!

Passed the NRS licensing process. Been doing as many trackdays as possible to get practice in. So much fun!!!

Did trackday @ Sears Point Sonoma a couple weeks ago. Weather prediction was for afternoon rain, but it opened up halfway through the 1st sessions. Here we are standing around trying to figure out how to attach umbrellas to the bikes.

it's a 1985.5, first year of the 2nd-gen. Had it for about 10-years now and it's been solid as a rock. All i've done is put gas in it and change the oil once a year. Haven't even changed the plugs, it keeps on ticking. Even done a couple of trackdays in it. Recent one with Shelby Club and got black-flagged for passing too many people!

I happen to have a friend that works at D store.

Not that uncommon, I see them at the tracks all the time. Usually used to carry extra set wheels with race tyres.

Yeah, mine used to be for carrying tools and extra set of wheels like those other guys. Then I converted it to carry a bike by adding that front section for the chock. Luckily this moved the bike forward just enough to get proper tongue weight!

You should come down to Chuckwalla during the winter we always have big grids for the little bikes!

Maybe sooner! I've always wanted to check out Chuckwalla. My sister-in-law lives in Chandler, so I'll schedule a track event along the way next time!

BTW - anyone know how to activate my previous account? Sent note to admin, but still inactive.

Hi!!! Recognize the bike? I was at Thunderhill West on 13-May. I bought season pass with PTT, so I'll be at all their events. Except for weekend in July that conflicts with AFM round 4.

Unfortunately will miss round 3 @ Thunderhill this weekend due to 3-day weekend with in-laws. Next event is 3-4 June @ Thunderhill w/PTT. They're doing a combined 5-mile track!
