[visordown.com] - Biker gang cuts off street in Manhattan

A VIDEO posted online shows a group of bikers blocking a busy stretch of road on Sunday.

Over 10 motorcyclists and riders on quad bikes took over two lanes in Washington Heights, New York, causing a build-up of traffic.

The gang were seen performing numerous burnouts and wheelies next to parked cars and alongside motorists waiting to get past.

It comes after SUV driver Alexian Lien was pulled from his Range Rover and attacked in front of his wife and daughter after driving into the back of several motorcycles, following intimidating behaviour during a motorcycle rally.

The new video, shot by a local resident and posted on Youtube, shows the bikers performing their stunts near West 190th Street.

Jon-Marc McDonald, 37, a local witness said: “It was crazy, one of the craziest I’ve seen because it was so flagrant.

“They were popping wheelies, burning rubber, flying up and down the street.”

“These guys come out on a pretty regular basis about once a week until the beating incident in September. They quit, but then they started coming back again,” added McDonald.

McDonald explained how the biker gang used to perform similar stunts every weekend, but stopped temporarily after Lien was pulled from his Range Rover and attacked.

A video of the beating incident was filmed from a helmet camera and then uploaded to Youtube back in September.

According to McDonald, the bikers involved with Lien's attack were the same gang that were blocking the street, performing stunts directly outside the R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home.

Anna Reinoso, who said she was in charge of the funeral home, explained that the riders were friends of a man who had died and whose service was underway at the time.

“They were friends of the deceased, and they just rode around a little bit, maybe five minutes and then they left. There was no problem.” Said Reinoso.

McDonald commented: “Unless they’re having a funeral every week for their friends, I doubt that’s it. These guys weren’t moving for anyone.”

The bikers eventually dispersed when an NYPD police cruiser came to the scene, allowing traffic to resume as normal.

No pursuit ensued and the police department said they had no report of the incident.
