Want scary? Go to the video's youtube page, on the description is two links -- hit the second ('cleaner audio'); the guys in that truck had a camera and the teenager claims he was the one who avoided the collision.

Until I watched the second video I didn't realize the truck was MOVING. I thought it was broken down or something. I would have gone back and kicked the sh!t outta him!

Indeed !

The driver sounds intelligent........

Publishing the video confirms that he is a gifted creature.

That's just about the worst driving I've ever seen from a Purple Toyota FJ Cruiser with California license plate 5VDV253. I'd certainly want people to know what they are dealing with whenever they come across such a truck with plates that match 5VDV253. Seems anyone driving an FJ Cruiser with so little regard for the safety of others on the road should be shared far and wide, with all appropriate authorities.

In all seriousness, everyone involved in that incident is fortunate that things turned out the way they did. The motorcyclist exhibited impressive skill in avoiding the crash, but the doofuses in the car. Ugh.

Ride carefully guys. It's really sobering to think of how poorly that could have turned out.

the thing I find scariest about this is that it is VERY clear this is a 'motorcycle road' (several bikes pass the Toyota in it's video) -- it's one thing to do something this dumb and reckless in general, but it seems 'worse' to do it on a curvy bike-populated road. Though I suspect the driver has no idea what cornering and lines are. *grumble*

True, but can you imagine how bad it could have been if the motorcycle had been a car? I I know plenty of FR drivers who love those curvy roads and would have been in a collision in the same circumstances. I mean, the guy is driving the FJ cruiser on the wrong side of the road in a relatively blind corner.

Yeah, a car would've hit either them or the skateboards. >.< I feel similarly about my recent accident -- as many lessons as I pulled from it, very few were about motorcycles since I'm pretty sure I would've smacked into the Benz with my Fit too, if I were driving that instead.

also true, and very scary/sad, but he sounds like a teenager and I'm willing to give hope that he'll grow up. Sadly there will be new irresponsible teenagers to take his place.

His body will mature and grow up for sure, but his brain and feelings will not improve.

In my experience, that human condition only gets worse with age.

I don't know. I like to think that that isn't always the case, and that sometimes immature teens do grow up into responsible adults.

Between these two videos if I were that rider I would find them with the police and if that didn't accomplish anything .

I hope that video gets submitted to the police since the license plate is visible. That driver needs to spend some time away from a vehicle.

Kudos to the rider looking deep through the turn and being ready to adjust his line. But let's not forget that the rider was also hauling the mail through those turns. That kind of speed is worthy of a citation on its own.
