Help, Bike won't shift in to 3rd or beyond

OK guys, need some help. Not sure what I have done. Here is my issue:

2011 Ninja 250r, low miles = 900

This weekend here is what I have done.

- Removed side body work
- Changed oil to Rotella synthetic
- Changed spark plugs
- Installed shogun frame sliders

I rode the bike after all of this was doen and it rode fine, but when you install showgun sliders you have to gride your front sprocket cover to fit around the tube. When I went to reinstall the sprocket cover, I had to remove the shift lever, which I did. Re-installed the front sprokct cover, then re-installed the shift lever. Now wont shift into third - only first and second.

My intital thought is that I must have twisted the shift lever and either shortened or lengthened the throw, so I tried shortening it and lengthening it and still nothing.

Anybody that can offer advice, please weigh in....

Either you changed the position of the clamp respect to the spline shaft in a way that the lever that it makes with the connecting bar is less perpendicular or some point of the mechanism is hitting the frame or other solid part at the end of the up-shift stroke.

What he said! When reinstalling the shifter lever, aligning it properly is huge, otherwise you won't be able to shift.
