Trail Tech Vapor

Is anyone running a Trail Tech Vapor?
I installed one and can't get the tach to settle down.
I'm at a single wrap on the sensor and it still jumps around a lot.

Update for posterity.

After Googling around, I've found that the Vapor has had tach problems from day 1. You would think they would have addressed the issue by now.

They continue to try to get their users to go with the inductive pickup. i.e. wrap the signal wire around the spark plug wire. Unfortunately the inductive pickup picks up everything. "Those bikes have a lot of electrical noise" to quote their tech support. All bikes have a lot of electrical noise. I suspect they use that phrase a lot. Use coax if you want to go that direction.

They will sell you a resistor wire that can be connected to the +12v lead of the coil. Or, as most users have discovered, you can simply solder in a 540k - 640k resistor to the exisiting wire that comes with the unit.

It's still the least stable tach I've ever had but this fix at least gets it into the acceptable range.

I've used Trail Tech Vapor on my dirt bike, supermotard, single cylinder thumper, they've always been easy to install, function as they should.
