i have to admit. the 300 engine was superior in every way to the 250 engine. if i don't find one to stuff in my spare 250, i will have to buy a new 300.

Any mods? Is it a white one? If so, I'll fly out to So Cal, get it, and ride it back home!

Hey Alex, I saw a 300 in our local CL for $4400 I think, it had some scratches, so may be a workable deal. ..

i was abusing my transmission and it went chunk. now my external shift arms are slid off the shift hub. root cause is an already bent external shift transfer rod, combined with no reinforcement on the left hand side because my sprocket cover is off. (that is what originally allowed the bend to happen)

Why not put the sprocket cover back on? I know it's a race bike, but...?

@ally99- good idea! two up at barber?
@choneofakind- yes. @Bones85- details after fixing it last night: the spring that holds the two arms of the external shift linkage onto the shift drum came off and fell down to the bottom of the engine. so the shift linkage was not connected internally. i wound up having to take the clutch off and fish the spring out from the oil pan. replaced the spring and bent the ends in slightly so it wont come off again. i actually have several spare transmissions... this is actually my 4th blown transmission believe it or not... maybe i should be nicer to my tranny. its just hard when its so easy to fix.
