Mystery of the dissapearing oil.....
Good advice... So here goes. I realized my bike is losing oil with no real visible leaks. Although it does look like a greasy spot about 6 inches under my seat where the engine is but idk what to call that area. right under my side fairings. no smoke at all out of the mufflers.

Obvious question....but your oil level isn't above the top line on the sight glass when the bike is on 2 wheels and vertical, right..??

Ok oil level currently as at the very bottom of the sight glass when it's up on the center stand. It was in the middle of the sight glass 2 weeks ago. and I had not run the bike that day when checking both times.

It doesn't mean that some oil is not being sucked up into the combustion chamber due to defective rings or restricted crankcase ventilation.
I would check the snorkel or modified vent and would add some Seafoam to the fuel.

Oil level should be checked when the bike is on it's two wheels on level pavement while not leaned over. Middle of the sightglass on the center stand is definately too much oil. |

Pull the cap on the airbox drain hose....have a container ready in case you suddenly find your missing oil....

The oil level should be within the marks on the sightglass when the bike is level (side-to-side) and on it's two wheels (not on the center stand). If the oil level is in the middle of the sight glass while the bike is on the centerstand, it is more than likely overfilled. Check the oil level when the bike is not on the centerstand and report back. Oil coming out under the seat (I assume out of the airbox or crankcase vent), is another indication that the engine is overfilled with oil. Although oil is supposed to come out of this area, it shouldn't be in large amounts. |

These bikes burn oil at high RPM operation. I regularly wring the neck off of mine. I always check my oil before riding. About every three tanks of gas I'll have to bring the level from about half in the sight glass to full. My bike isn't no clapped out beater either. It had 2845 miles when I bought it and it still pulls stronger than ever. Just did a nice stretch at a GPS indicated 100 MPH for a good forty miles today actually. These bikes are bullet proof too!

^^ take it easy on that thing. 100 for 40 miles is literally as fast as she'll go, no wonder you blow so much oil out the pipe...
Mine burned a little at the track but not that bad. Posted via Mobile Device |

Just take your air filter out for now and look into the airbox. Lets see if it has a puddle of oil in it. You familiar on where and how to take the air filter out?
