Knee pain...

So, after using my 250 as my primary means of transportation for the past month or so, I'm noticing that my knees are absolutely killing me.

I work on small boats in the coast guard so I'm used to getting beat up, but I can barely walk.

Have any of you experienced this? Maybe it's due to my legs always bent on the bike or something else?

I'm popping Motrin 800's (Military Vitamin M) like candy and it's only taking the edge off.

WTF yo?

I'm guessing that there's something with your knees already and riding the bike is just making it worse. I have bad knees and sometimes they'll ache after a weekend in the mountains on the bike. Something that may help is to reposition your feet often while riding. Balls of your feet on the pegs, then the arches, sometimes your heels. Repositioning your feet like this will change the angle in your knees and it does help. No matter what the angle... being still in that same angle gets to my knees.

My knees hurt pretty bad sometimes. Usually only after going straight for a long was. Stand up, switch positions, stretch, get off your bike. These things aren't comfy and that's not why people buy them. No pain no gain as they say.

The long riding is just something I have to do. Work is no less than 1 hour/ 40 miles one way, and sometimes I have to go a lot of places in one day.

I've tried the changing the positions of my legs but no joy.

Brandon, do they make rearsets for the pre-gens? You might look into them to see if that might help by placing them in a different position. I know that with my knees, if I can drop them down lower, which the rearsets would do, it seems like they would be more comfortable...

I've thought about that, but if I go any lower then I would probably drag the pegs in my turns.

rearsets usually move the pegs back and up.

Is that right? I will commence a search for them. I appreciate the input.

for a new gen, but basically the same information applies for all rearsets. unfortunately they do not make this particular product for the pre gens.

My knee is junk .Arthritis has set in from to many injuries and surgeries. Bicycle riding is limited . And I have had a lot of motorcycles . I have never bin able to ride with out pain . I just walk around a bit when I get gas . I stop every 200 miles or so for a stretch . For my 250 ninja I use Buell XB foot pegs . They give me a little extra room . Without sacrificing ground clearance.
