Well not me, but my son

He was sitting at a stop light, light turned green, he stalled the bike, car rear ended him.

Is he ok or come off the bike? Looks like an easy hit, but looks can be deceiving.

He said he didn't come off the bike and feels fine. We'll see if he still feels the same in the morning. He rode the bike back to his place after the accident.

How crazy to be rear-ended while starting out from a stop at a green light. Some people just don't see anything! I am glad to hear he was not injured and it looks like the bike can easily be repaired. Hope he still feels well after a night of rest!

What is wrong with people these days?!?

Hopefully the person in the car learned why you need to always pay attention. Your son was fortunate the driver didn't do more damage.

Snot, it's nothing new, although some of the idiocy is more high tech than it used to be. When my age was still in the single digits, a classmate's mother drove him to school, and got her car to lock bumpers with one of the school busses right in front of the school. That was in the 1960s.

Tom, I wish for the best outcome for your son, both in health and damage repair.

Very sorry to read this, Tom.

Was the damage to the plastic cover caused by the car or by the bike falling on that side after the hit?

He said he remained upright after being hit so all the damage is from the car hitting him. There also is a dent you can see in the tank that wasn't there before. I don't know if that's from the seat being pushed forward or from his belt buckle hitting the tank.

I've repaired dents in my tank. The steel is very thin and easy to bend. I'd bet the dent is from your son hitting it. You could easily bop that part of the tank with the side of your fist and dent it worse.

What 300 said!! People need to be "enlightened" one way or another that they must be "aware" in traffic! Just yesterday I was almost taken out by a car approaching the freeway from an on-ramp as he glided right into my lane and didn't even see me! I made sure to visually 'Thank' him for his disgression.

its not that OP's son wasn't aware, it's the fact that he stalled out

I hope he got their insurance info and takes them to the cleaners.

Glad he's okay. I hate people.

Yet another reason to leave room for the fella in front of you, in the cage or on the bike, assuming the guy behind was doing this. Glad everyone seems okay. A bit surprised at the hostility towards the driver, though. I could see myself doing the same thing in the wrong circumstances.

I wouldn't say he took them to the cleaners. No injuries, he did get $1,100 from the insurance company for the damages and he kept the bike and no totaled title on it either.
