Not Sure What This Is?

I came across this part that was kind of just dangling on the side of my newly purchased bike, does anyone know what it is? It looks like something connects to the end of it, and it says "AIR".

If you are talking about the rectangular canister with the nozzle off the front, that would be the charcoal canister for the California Emissions thingy.

Congrats, you have the special CA-edition bike!

Looks like the Evaporative Emissions canister. It absorbs fumes from your fuel tank and then allows the carbs to suck them out later. The manual shows the plumbing. I thought only those of us in California had those!

That's the CA emissions canister. Looks like it came loose or either someone just threw it in there.

Looking at your headlight thread, I'm wondering if the previous owner gutted the rest of the evap system which is why is just looks like its hanging there with none of the connecting hoses?

Fix the coolant overflow orientation (which I was planning on doing anyway)
Add an exhaust (which is where I need a little advice)
Your pic only shows the right side of the whole bike in your previous thread.

Apparently something else needs fixing too. The bracket looks broken and mounts up higher on the frame. You can uninstall it and cap of the unnecessary ends since there are no CA emission requirements in GA.
