It's perfect...no chips or flaking. 3+ coats did the trick.

Looks good!!! The grips match well with the color of your chain guard.

Yeah, guess I won't be putting on grips after all. My order was refunded cause they were out of stock. I'm OK with it though. I was iffy about it anyways cause I wasnt sure how the red would match anyways. Guess it wasn't meant to be for me.

I'm considering these ones now, although they're pretty pricey. But I think they'll go great with the look of the bike.

Just finished reading through the entire thread. Great evolution and customization. Hope to join the ranks soon, as I'm still shopping for a used one. Been a long time rider though.

Anyways, thanks NicoleH28 for the inspiration.

I'm doin the same thing too, lol my chain guard is already red too but sticking with dark smoke ZG and tryin to put a red spikes windscreen bolts but came across a problem the lower screws on the windshield is longer i might remove the fairings and try to see what can I do.

Ik eyeing on the same d3 grips as well for 33 buck i think its worthit

Still deciding about clipons if goin wc or new vortex ones with 7 degree angle
Im might go vortex though coz it will look good with a red preload adjuster.

Sorry for bad grammr htc phone givin me a hard time typing, lol

Play2pwn, please share more about your decision to go with vortex clip-ons. Been doing my homework on my future mods. Was set on WC but not too sure now.

Just for the looks tbh but the wc is the way to go if u wanna keep the stock height

From what I heard dropping the front makes it unstable at speeds but it makes you enter and exit the curve faster. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Im 170lbs 6'0ft tall btw.

You can install the WC over or under the triple tree, so you can get pretty aggressive without having to raise the forks (lower the front). Correct, lowering front makes turning more aggressive but you lose some suspension travel. I plan on keeping forks stock height but lowering the bars w/clip ons.

According to the "how to" section, WC clears the fairings and tank. Don't know enough about vortex was hoping you could shed some light.

BTW, since you're tall it'll give you more reach by installing them under the triple but will put more pressure on your wrist.

Mine are aluminum. I got them from a different seller but they look just like those but mine are silver. They do have some little scratches in them though. They're probably rejects made in the same factory as the name brand ones.

Play2pwn - I LOVE my slip-on and thanks for thinking my bike is bad *ss LOL
I went riding yesterday with two friends who have Harley's and I could still hear my bike....it's loud!
As for performance, I can't tell. However, I haven't shimmed carbs or put a dyno kit on my bike. I think my bike is fine the way it is, I don't plan on doing any of that!

Farter - thanks for the heads up on that eBay link. I'll probably look into getting those ones. What seller did u buy from?

Play2pawn - where did u find the d3 grips for $33? Every site I've seen was at least $41 plus shipping.

I thought about getting clipons. I had Phr3k's red shinto clipons in my hands, cause I helped him get his order over here to the US and man they were tempting. I was considering just buying them off of him since he sold his ninja. But I didn't have the money to spend at the time. I really don't need them though, which is another reason why i didn't get them from him. Don't really need rearsets either. I'm trying to get myself to stop spending money on the bike, cause I've spent too much already.

It just so happens that while I went for a very short ride yesterday, a blue Yamaha rode up next to me and had these exact bar ends and grips in blue on his bike. They looked really good. Since the seller is the2wheel, I think I'm gonna go ahead and buy them from them. I got my levers from them and couldn't be happier with them. Price is great also.I probably won't use the bar ends though, just the grips.

fwiw nat,

the anodizing on the grips is going to fade. as you know, i have the same 2wheels levers as you (i got black and gunmetal). the black has faded to a purpleish/silver in just over 3 months. not a big concern to me as i purchased for functionality, not farkle. i'm thinking the grips are more of a farkle and you would be disappointed if they faded. if you really like the style, i'd go with the driven d3 grips.

just wanted to give you a heads up....
