How you made the connections?
I'm thinking in a way to put all the LEDs and still can remove the fairings without unplug nothing more than the turn signals.

For now I'm using bullet-style connectors to connect the lights from the fairings, eventually I'm gonna swap them for the OEM style turn signal connectors so they're easier to disconnect. I have the LEDs just like Kevin's in the very first post.
The red glowing lines are where the strips are placed, and the arrow direction is the direction the tops of the strips are facing. The left side is nearly identical placement.

Haha, well I now have all the fairing lights of the blue bike taped on and wired up, I'm just being a little lazy with the rest of it. Actually watching the world cup right now so I might go start putting the rest of the lights on the frame by the seat when it's over.

Seems like I have the LEDs beside the seat on the blue bike right-side-up instead of upside-down.. oops

Tri if the red reminded you of Tron, check the green out

More in my albums. Didn't feel like overloading with pics this time

Here's both though

PS: Camera doesn't do them justice, they look so much better than these pics show.

Dang it Walt. Now I'm gonna have to install all those LED's. It's all your fault! I REALLY like the green on the blue bike, and it should be legal to ride with the lights on all the time too . I wonder how white would look instead of green on it. Now that I think about it though, the light coming up from the front fairings would probably be really bad for night time riding.

Haha, never meant to show you up.. I've just been wanting to glow any vehicle I've ever owned, and you showed me how cheap it could be.

And it's really weird, I think a decent amount of the green light gets absorbed by the blue paint and its not nearly as bright as the .. red would be if it wasn't red... I dunno, red isn't bright.. since, to me anyway, it's less taxing on the eyes. Anyway, green isn't as ..dominant.. and the red is, or white would be. I had them on the other night and, I am assuming, any green going forward gets washed by the headlight/s, and it's not lighting up anything higher than where knees would be on the tank.

I'm more concerned about the light coming up thru the front cowl in the handle bar area. Having a bright glow in front of of the gauges would be bad. I guess I'll just have to admire from afar. I also take off my fairings pretty regularly so installing all those LED's would make it a hassle to remove later on.

Its not bad coming up through that way either, at least I didn't seem to notice it getting in the way. And I have the fairings on disconnects, eventually I'm gonna get around to using the same connectors as the turn signal connectors. So just 2 wire pulls instead of 1.

Haha, yea the other night actually. It didn't seem overly bright to glance down at the speedo. I could see all of the numbers backlit on it. I think the forks get in the way of the light and the underside of the cluster gets the brunt of the rest of it. I'll pay more attention to how it looks the next time I take it out at night. Was riding the blue bike, so I can't comment on the red, not to mention red grabs a bit more of the wrong attention.

Yeah, you can't ride with any red or blue lights in CA. It's a quick way to get a citation for impersonating a peace officer. I wonder if Alex will let me change my user name to Tron. LOL BTW, if you need female/male turn signal connectors and don't want to buy from Japan, I usually have them in stock.

Oh man, that would be great, cause having a minimum balance at eastern beaver was the only thing stopping me from getting them.

And as far as I know (girlfriend asked a po' that is a client at her vet) in SC it's all illegal, but they don't really care and will usually only get you if they feel like being an
Of course I got the impression there are color ranks lol:
1.Blue
2.Red
3.Other

Could you take some profile and angled shots, but a little further away? Would really like to get a full grasp on how the whole bike lights up at night.

Looks amazing from what I can tell though.

You know Kevin, most people step on their gas pedal when they see green lights. You might want to rethink that "safety" portion again

Yeah, going to do this very soon. (Don't worry, I'll trow some pics up when I get it done) Thanks for taking the time to outline where you ended up installing the strips.

Quick question - How do you secure the led strip to the fairing? 3M tape, glue, what?

Man, this makes me want to get LEDs again. I'd like colour matched red, but I can't ride with red. And the only colour changing ones I've seen are like $100-$150 for the kit, but it does strobes and flashes and such too.

Flashing lights are generally a nono when driving. Unless you just plan on using the cool flashing and color changing for show, then that's totally cool

Yeah, the flashing and strobe would just be for show, would be solid while riding. Can't have red or blue while riding though either, hence the multi colour ones.

gotta figure this out for my bike, 2009 blue, i would do blue lights, im pretty sure its all illegal here so id have it when im just posing lol or riding out in the country it would be sick at night with no lights anywhere other than myself. id wanna have it all set up so i can still easily take off the fairings if i have to instead of pulling multiple wire plugs and for sure have a switch. ive heard to wire it into the headlight so they cant be turned on without keys so no one can come screw with the bike but i understand that leds wont kill a battery for a long time. will have more questions once i get some leds but first we need to warm up cuz the garage is way too cold
