I like the idea, but you're right you need time to make it happen. But that's just awesome how you can integrate a "GPS" on the gauge, and there's so much more you can do aside from that. This project that you have in-mind has so much potential.

Jonny is the master mind, this thread is just a "pre" group buy, a what if thread where we can brainstorm on a good cheaper alternative gauge vs the koso's

Talking Got it

I GOT SOME GOOD NEWS!

just got home from work and got greeted at the door by a small package from china . At first I thought it was some turn lights I had order because the box looked small, to my surprise it was the gauge.

My first thoughts are:
-I was expecting it to be a little bigger but its not too small (see pic with can of tuna)
-looks good
-Great build quality, it feels very solid
-glass(pexy?) is solid.
-quality of the plug and wires is excellent, everything is heat shrieked and crimped properly.
-no imperfections on the front of the gauge.
-I can see some cosmetic imperfections on the sides, nothing major(see pics), and probably won't be visible anyways.
-was shipped in a box with wrapped in bubble wrap. Gauge has a protective screen film.

alright guys I got some bad news.

I do not trust the install instructions, I do not think they are 100% correct.
they showed the green as ground and black at power. from what i can tell green is ground and red is power but the blue black lighting is not powering on. all the indicator lights turn on momentarily, fuel shows full then disappears, time stays on 12:00.

I connected all the light indicator wires to the turn signal power line (one at a time) and none of them ever turned on.

I am going to email the guy see what he can do.

its kinda late but maybe ill install the speed sensor and see if that works.

if you guys have any ides let me know.

If he could get one with a 15k rpm readout I would be in as long as it is mostly a plug and play kit. Other wise I would stay stock.

Hi jonny - the attached file doesn't appear to be video file. The easiest way to get the video online and embedded within a post is to first upload it to a video sharing site like youtube. Once there, it's easy.

Here is the vid for real this time

Link to original page on YouTube.

List of what works.

L/R turn signals individually ( i think they blink but I had a fairing off and the light was disconnected to they say on)
High beam light
tachometer
Fuel quantity (shows full, will update for accuracy)
clock
neutral light

List of what doesn't yet.

Speedometer (I did verified that the numbers climb when I played with the sensor)
Odometer (I would need the speedometer to be working)
water temp (verified that it does turn on but would have to induce somehow)
oil press (verified that it does turn on but would have to induce somehow)

I personally really like it over the stock gauge, and size looks very comparable to other digital gauges i have seen on bikes. will have get a picture of my buddies cbr to compare.

let me know what you guys think so far.

During the day its easy to read, I had no problem making out the numbers when.
I cannot wait till I have it all hooked up, its going to look sick.

hopefully I can have it all hooked up tomorrow, with a blank back plate filling it the gap from the stock gauge.

the speed sensor might be a little challenge, there is no where to attach the magnet to, will sleep on it and see what I can come up with.

I am tired, will play 1 BF bad company 2 then hit the bed.
