f-up my stang
I was turning into a 1-way street last night and there was a deer standing right in the middle of the road. I was trying to move around it and hit the curb and F-up my rim and bent the stearing column or control arm.

on the bright side, think of what the damage would have been if you had made contact with the deer... sorry to hear about the run-in

That sucks man. That front wheel is really jacked back. As a fellow 'stang owner, I feel your pain. Those were some nice Bullitt wheels before they got jacked.

Deer are such a pain. We had a rider die here in Utah last year when he hit a deer.

I almost hit one going to work in my mustang.
Things I was able to hit in my mustang: A cement wall on a major freeway doing 65mph (hit some heavy rain on worn tires) A lady who at the last minute turned into my lane doing 30mph under the limit. No signal or anything, she ended up side-swiping me. I still need to get it fixed.

Our brain has to be the fastest processor out there. At that very moment my brain was probably calculating the damage if I hit the deer. I'm just glad that geico will take care of everything and all i have to put out is $500 deductible. dang it... my yoshi exhaust. |

My bet is that you bent the control arm.. definately hosed the tie rod and more than likely the ball joint as well. I doubt the Kmember got hurt.. you can get brand new FRPP lower control arms for your car (94-04) for less than $200 for both sides with bushings and ball joints already installed. Check the K member for squareness and the spindle for straightness.. that sucks..
those wheels are about $150 each I'd say... I see you already have deep dish rears or I'd recommend them.. Good luck!

yeah tin, whatever you do, don't replace the damaged parts with stock if possible. UPGRADE!!! that is probably the only benefit of being in an accident.

Upgrade is usually cheaper than stock too.

The front end was already upgraded.
I have to talk to the shop tomorrow. Cuz they can't replace whatever with stock parts. That won't work. I have a k-member with coil-over, after market control arms and steeda ball joints. Basically, the whole front suspension is all after market. Regarding the wheel, Geico says they will cover the wheel(s) and tire(s). |

If you need a new Kmember.. spend teh extra cash and get a Max Motorsports one.. I bet you have a UPR on there.. QA1 has a decent Kmember but it is heavy... MM has the best and strongest stuff.. did you look underneath?

The said the whole front suspension is aftermarket. I told him to quote me for the OEM parts and told to shop to replace those after market parts with the same kind. It looks like the k member is ok. The axel, the upper control arm and the strut are bent. It's such a PITA. |

They wear out fast though. I guess all performance tires wear out fast. I have put 20k on them and I think it's time for new tires. |
