Rumor has it that his Mom bought a bike and has it stashed at his friend's house!

Just thought I would help this become one of the longest running threads, without a resolution.

Went to the therapist today, his son owned a motorcycle, before I left home for the regiment of cadets at suny maritime we were talking about him and his son, and me getting a bike. I went to talk to him about my situation today only to find out his son and his sons girlfriend died September 5th in a head on accident while he was on his motorcycle. I couldn't believe he kept it together while telling me this.

Dude, you should write a book.

Geez, I think you've got way too much drama to own a bike.

And you still wonder why your mother is so concerned about you getting a motorcycle? Come on Dave man up and give it some time.

For this budding board maybe, but it doesn't hold a candle to the infamous "hootus" thread..... it went on for 9 years before getting locked, got an urban dictionary entry, and is refrenced in just about every 4x4 forum!

Google it and read... it is well worth it, the first few years at least. I challenge anyone to read several pages with out busting a gut.

This thread is kinda like that pile up on the interstate.. You don't want to look but you just can't help yourself. Or like reading the comments on the internet news stations. You don't want to look but you just have to.

Then you are just plain dissapointed in yourself..

I also wonder again, if we are not part of an experiment for aliens of another planet... ow humans react to nonsense....

My mom back in the day was pretty firm.

Me: Can I get a motorcycle?
Her: NO MOTORCYCLE!
Me: How about a tiny dirt bike
Her: NO

Ok, so the first thing I did after I left home at 18? I got a GS500. Yeah, she can kiss it. Now she actually shows a little interest in my bike. It doesn't really bug her anymore. I guess it is because I have been on one for so long, and nothing has really happened, so she has gotten more comfortable with it.

FYI: All hospital peeps, it seems, are anti-motorcycle. I walked into one when my father-in-law went in the hospital. I headed straight from work, carrying my helmet, wearing my jacket. I bumped into a nurse and she asked if I ride, I answered yes. Then she asked if I wear a helmet. I raised it up and said "no I just like to carry it with me for no reason at all (while sicking out my tongue at her)". She laughed and told me that it was good I wore one, and to be safe. Meh

I think he can survive a lighthearted stab. If not, he prob shouldn't be on a bike anyway.

I do confess....I definitely think shrinks are for wussies.

Suit yourself.

I hope you don't need one, nor friends/family, and all your marriages are strong and healthy... but we all know that it is a little optimistic to think that life is great ALL the time, and sometimes we need to talk about it.

BTW: I did get the sarcasm.... I can dish too, can't I

I can't believe this thread is still going, what a waste of bandwidth.

I don't know if this is an honest thread, but to me it looks like a perfectly executed troll post and everyone is in the feeding mood. Round and round and round it goes never getting anywhere.

Maybe I'm wrong but I doubt it.

Oh yeah... One step closer to getting a Buell XB9R beasty in Almost Angelic white. Eventually I'll do what the 'Stones said to do and paint it a sinister black. So I am one step closer to not owning a twofiddy. Would be neat to put a 250 in that chassis, would come out to be under 300 pounds wet.

I'm trying to keep an open mind until the motor pisses me off. The chassis is supposed to be fantastic even with the egg beater inside it. Wish I could afford the 1125R with the nice Rotax engine. The torque is incredibly high for a sport bike, more than my 1800cc car so it should get moving really fast when I snap the throttle open.

The only good thing about the Sportster engine in the XB9 and XB12 is that there are a lot of parts out there, and lots of places that can work on them.

Now the real benefit is that these bikes are FI. Since I want to fiddle with a MicroSquirt DIY FI controller, this save a lot of fooling around since half the parts are in place. Also there are basically none of these in my area, so I will have a fairly unique machine before I even start with the mods and paint.

Andrew:

Sounds like your okay, so I'll ask the other question on all our minds... How's the bike?

Also, mine's a classic as you can see here.

And my favorite pic of him... Maybe I should try painting my 250 in his pattern...

Sorry I wasn't more clear.

I was in a fender bender in my car. Much less important than the bike!!!!

The thing that sucks is that now I'll have to cough up the money for the deductible. Looks like that Bikemonkey tail light will have to wait....

Beautiful dog! Here's my favorite of the two:

weekend 018.jpg

That one's half German Shepherd, half Siberian Husky. Parents were purebred but not the same breed.
And here's the other monster:

weekend 039.jpg

She's got Border Collie, Heeler, Boxer, ????? Her mother was found in the desert abandoned so she could have anything. We think she might be a Coyote hybrid.
