Your opinion on buying an older 250

Ok here is the dilema, guy my brothers father-in-law works with bought a 98 ninja 250 to fix and ride. Well they cannot get it fixed. It is a 98 with only 3k miles, he says tires are good, but I'd prob replace them anyway, they are prob stock tires. It has no front fender, or fairing, and the carbs are all stopped up. I already have 2 250's and a zrx and dad has a concours, so the garage is full. Dude only wants $500 for it, that is what he has in it. Im sure we can get it fixed, but dont know if I should do it or not. Their is no way I would make a profit on it since it has no fairings, I would do good to break even. Dad says he doesnt want it, and noone else I know wants it.

So if anyone is near the knoxville TN area, let me know and if you want to mess with a 250 and maybe have a good bike on the cheap let me know!

I'm sure you could part it out for over $500

Sad, but without the plastics, it takes a huge hit on value. With a clogged carb and not running, its worth even less. Try putting it on Craig's list for a few months and see if anyone bites. Be flexible on that $500. Maybe someone will rescue it. If not, maybe part it out.
