Touch up paint for swing arm?
Just wondering if anyone knows what I could/should use to touch up paint on my swing arm? It's collected some pretty ugly paint scratches I could do without.

Rattle can spray paint should do. Clean it up remove the wheel sand it degrease everything. The chain lube will cause the paint to fish eye or not stick. So cleaning is critical. Tape off the rest of the bike and it will look good as new.

Black gloss spray paint
Like racerx said prep is the most important part of any paint job.

I used rustoleum spray on truck bed liner on mine. I don't know how well it is going to hold up but it will be easy to touch up so I don't really care. And the black swingarm looks much better than the silver.

@espacef1fan and anyone else who would like to know, a silver sharpie pen is almost exactly the same color as the silver on the swing arm. Give the Swing arm a good wipe down and cleaning and you should be able to cover up all your scratches and marks.
No idea how long the marker will last. The marker is pretty much unusable for anything else if you do this too so use one you have lying around/ keep it for future scrapes. |
