What are you talking about? Motion pro comes with 4 different diameter inserts... All the way up to 50mm, if that isn't quick, I don't know what is...

I got the '05 R6 barrel from flea-bay for $11.21 shipped and installed it Saturday. Definitely a plug and play mod. The part of the conversion that took me the longest was getting the old grip off of the original barrel.

I just put in an 06+ throttle and I did have to trim the tube approx. 1/4" but otherwise it was a simple install. Definitely recommend it.

You need one of these and one of these and you have everything you need to make your own Quick action throttle at half the cost of a motion pro... I use that and I've even zip tied my R6 tube for that additional bite... I'm planning on buying another set of housing and throttle just to see how far I can go.

I have a 2003 that I'm setting up for track duty.
I bought the 06 R6 tube and it fit the housing fine. The cables fit the housing like they should and are smooth operating... but... when attaching the cables to the carb everything went together ok after I loosened up the adjusters all the way top and bottom . The problem is that now the throttle will not close all the way. It's smooth and snaps shut but not all the way.. there is almost a 1/4" gap between the idle adjust stop and the tang on the carb...
any ideas?

So it turned out the pull cable was too short. Well really it was the cable housing the was too long... I went and peeled the vinyl back, unwound the housing to where I figured was about right and cut it. After much fumbling and cussing I was able to get the cable back into the r6 tube and switch housing and on the clip on. I was pretty lucky and got the cut right on the money and now the throttle works perfect!
Definitely I can say that on the pre gen at least this mod is not a plug and play thing...

so obviously conflicting reports - does the R6 (and if so what year) throttle tube drop in to any of our bikes without modification?

And to be honest the 06 r6 tube did not shorten the throttle travel as much as I was hoping.. may end up doing the zip later.. we'll see

my latest crash has taught me something important that i really didn't think was that important before: make sure your kill switch is extremely easy to get to with your thumb.

When you guys are talking about needing to trim the housing what exactly are you talking about? I just tried installing the 06 tube and can't the throttle doesn't snap back at all.

Clicking Noise, The source of it.

Did the mod, and spend hours trying to track the clicking noise when I pulled the throttle.

The return throttle cable hole on the R6 tube is bigger than the throttle pull hole.

Just makes a little clicking noise, because it's loose and bangs in the hole when you twist the throttle.

The clicking is annoying, because I can feel it when I twist the throttle. You won't hear it when the bike is on.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
